I'm gutted. Blackpool, with respect, are struggling. We fancy we deserve auto promo. We carve out a one one draw, after Burnley have already lost and not a single QPR player is booked with 60 odd percent of possession. Is anybody trying out there? Gutted!
Our last flickering chance of 2nd place has been snuffed out, Burnley must be laughing their rocks off...
Blackpool were truly dreadful. Redknapp got it so wrong today.........I don't know whether to laugh or cry!!
Are we ready for promotion? Will it be different from last time? We're unbeaten in 3. and we made 1 pt up on burnley. Given the reds we've had, Harry may have asked them to use their heads for once.
My mate told me that he saw Fernandez having lunch with M.Laudrop the other day. Is that the way forward?
I can't help thinking that old 'Arry is in a rut and doesn't know what to do when things don't go according to plan. I hate, knee jerk, calls for manager change but next season needs a new perspective. Christ, he's older than me and my missus won't let me choose TV programmes!
Well that snuffed out the faint glimmer of second spot after Burnleys defeat. Im stunned at how we were set up in the first half, considering the players we had available/injured. It didnt work did it Harry? and not for the first time this season. We were better in the second half, but its painfull isnt it.
It is. But it shouldn't be. He have some good players. I know the best are on the sick list however eleven committed professionals should be able to beat Blackpool ( who haven't won in Shepherds Bush since 1972 ). We lack Balls. One of our players should have been booked for trying too hard. I'm not a thug but you have to try hard and in this days game that might get you booked. No one did and we scraped a draw. Rubbish!
We hugely missed Joey Barton. Ravel Morrison was the most vocal and occasionally Karl Henry. He and Clint Hill fought today. Injuries have hurt us hard.
Make this a sticky. It's a recurring theme. Harry and this team deserve nothing for the brand of anti-football that we play.
You're right. I'm convinced that Redknapp doesnt have a clue tactically. We missed probably our last chance to put pressure on Burnley today, and it was down to the managers tactics. He can moan all he likes about injuries, but we have enough quality to beat a miserable Blackpool side if we are setup well from the beggining. I'm afraid he appears to have little clue on what to do. I'm not too downbeat though, after the disaster of the last two seasons Im pleased to even be in the play offs. But it could and should have been so much more if not for Redcrapp. Oh and on the entertainment front the seasons been abysmal.
Sku you're spot on. Reason being that the two mentioned give 100%. Sometimes ugly in the case of JB but never less than committed. We need more. My next visit to the Bush is the Notts Forrest game where my son has booked us into the hostility suite. I hope it's worth it
I don't want to get on the Harry-out-bandwaggon, but we should have stuffed them today. If we win the play-offs I'll be hoping that Harry retires on a high.
My thoughts too. If we do go up I think Harrys past his sell by date. I dont want him out now, but a gracefull exit after the season would suit me, whatever division we're in.
Why? What is there that suggests we are going to win the play offs with Arry ? We struggle to get points from Boro and Blackpool and our 2 wins I think it is against top 6 teams were fortunate.
When we saw the team sheet in the pub before the match we really struggled to work out the formation. I concocted a 4-4-2 with BAE on the left in midfield and Keane on the right, Col went for the wing back option which proved to be right. I'm sure he will expand on this in his match report, but he was horrified; Hughes as a full back is bad enough, but as a wing back was hopeless. As for BAE, to be honest would anyone be upset if they never saw him in a hooped shirt again? He may have great technique in trapping loop high balls, but does nothing else. As for the three at the back, their total confusion allowed two free men at the back post for Blackpool to score, and which ever tactical genius thought it was a good idea to have Dunne to be the deep-lying play maker should never be allowed in Harlington ever again. Simpson coming on for Hughes made a considerable improvement just be him being willing and able to run forwards; he actually looked like a footballer. Hoilett made a massive improvement immediately running at their defence, and he linked up nicely with Morrison who had been very quiet in the first half. Zamora was totally absorbed by his wresting match with the Blackpool defence rendering him completely useless, so much so that even Maiga was an improvement. I thought that Carroll have another decent match although others around me did not. He linked play together nicely and always made himself available for the ball. I felt sorry for him though, virtually every time he looked forwards he would have seen nothing but a bunch of mannequins giving him no viable options. A lot of our attacks were focused through the heart of their defence which require either a modicum of luck or very precise passing, neither of which are our forte. Going wide on the right through Hoilett and Simpson we looked more dangerous but neither had the conviction to take on the last man. Blackpool really offered nothing, and our second half improvement warranted the draw, but, yet again, it was another bewildering performance from selection through to execution. I had said to Col as soon as Leicester had won at Burnley that we would go and **** it up, why do we have to make everything so difficult?
