Firstly I would like to say well done to Shawcross for making it into the England squad and hopefully he gets pitch time and can perform well, however Im very annoyed that Crouch hasnt been selected. How can he pick Carroll over Crouch?. Carroll has been injured and hardly played a game where as Crouch has been banging them in left right and centre. Its a ****ing joke!!!!!!!!!!!. I dont want to take away from shawcross and hope he does really well just really pissed off about crouch, what does the bloke have to do to get into the squad for gods sake!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe it's because Carroll is worth 30 plus million. Well that's what Liverpool paid for him <doh>

To be honest Ric, I don't know what else Crouch could do. GREAT for Ryan though and it's his birthday today too!

I think it will be age related, but I agree it's a joke based on form - but what's new?

There's a few odd decisions there. . . I expected Crouch to be in, and hoped Shawcross would be, but it's turned out the other way. 3 LBs and 1 RB, and no Micah Richards, who I think is miles better than Glen Johnson.
And Milner, again. I know he's not actually a winger, but will end up playing there, which sort of makes sense, considering Young, Walcott, Lennon etc won't do much in the way of defending, but why not pick Kightly, Jarvis, Lallana? There's a couple of others I'd rather see play over Milner, but I can't remember their names.

I think Carroll is getting too much stick for being included, he has a lot to offer, but I agree on current form, Crouchie should have been well before him.

    Re Andy Carroll..
That's fair enough but did'nt WOY say or intimate that " Player's would be looked at and or selected on current form" WHAT exactly has Andy Carrroll done this season? Not that much and he was injured. I assume he is now fully fit, he's in the squad but as Smither's said. It has to be age related with regards to Crouch NOT being called up.

I'm with Sandor too! I don't, never have, never will rate Milner as England class. Micah Richards is immense but no. Johnson gets into the squad and I watched the Liverpool game last night. He was hopeless, he thinks he's a winger and can not defend but plays at RB ??
I would play Walcott every time, he's not the finished article but his pace alone is worth playing him IMO.

Still, let's hope that IF Ryan plays he will do STOKE and England proud..

Crouch's conversion ratio must stand up against any other strikers in the premiership, we don't create the amount of chances the bigger clubs do but he is still scoring consistently, doesn't make sense why he isn't selected.

So basically, what that stat/s are saying is simple enough. In the modern era. Crouch at International level is equal to or better than Alan Shearer. On that basis Woy should get a grip and ring Crouchie. I knew it was more or less a goal every other game for England, but IMO Shearer was up there with our best EVER forwards.

We should get Shearer back in, he could still net a few! At the very least he'd try harder than Rooney does.
