We played probably the best team in the league today, and, despite a depleted squad, came out with a great result.A draw would have been a hell of a result, but a victory...get in there!!What's the difference?I am sure even us fans can see that, from both the pre-match and after-match interviews,Martin is a class above our last manager. We may still need a couple of new faces in this transfer-window,but,to me,we have already had what seems like new signings with the emergence of Mclean and Kilgannon. The only way is up.Doesn't it feel a heck of a lot better looking up the table than it does looking down??Our new manager even had the honesty to admit we were in a relegation-battle before today's game...I don't think we are now.Three points at Wigan are vital..I can't wait!!!

Hi lads, Newcastle fan here. Not looking for any trouble, just wanted to congratulate you on the result. City were far from their best and the goal was offside BUT you defended brilliantly and in the end, deserved the win. <ok>

That's pretty much how I feel - and I honestly found Mancinis bitterness when being interviewed delicious; he didn't pay us any respect going into the game and he paid the price. You would think by now managers would have learnt that lesson that in the Prem today any team can beat any other; it's not like the weekend didn't reinforce the point either.

    Thanks for the comment Rotterdam
