3-0 down after 8 mins. Could have been 4 a few minutes later. The we control the rest of the game. 22 mins from time we score from a free kick and they go straight down the other game and get another. Incredible! This game was put down to one thing and one thing only; we were never came out at the start. When we did get going we passed the ball very well particularly in the second half but by then, of course it was too late. Bad day at the office and move on. Plus points; Boyd looked really good when he came on, they showed plenty of character in the second half and could and should have scored more, and with Palace and Lesster failing to win we got away with it a bit.
Just got back - stupid first 8 minutes. All avoidable but the momentum gathered for Bolton from those two missed tackles. Boyd looks class. He will play every game from now on in Bad day at the office - no one comes out with any credit today apart from Boyd and perhaps the industry of Elmo Flare in the stands, two arrested although i did see one of them at the buses. Stewards looked pretty inept
On the radio Burnsy was saying there looked like some trouble and mentioned police going in. Just what we don't need right now. How stupid can some people be.
Think the ones took out were the innocent party. Something over standing / not standing. Happens every game, well apart from at Peterborough
It was very odd, I was nearby and hadn't seen them do anything wrong, I couldn't understand why they got dragged out.
I was warned when we first went into the seated area (in a friendly and civilized way) not to sit in the few sears at the top of the lower stand next ro where the safety sheets were draped over seats. Didn't see what went on but maybe they disobeyed that instruction. What I couldn't believe about policing was that after the game the police were allowing some of their Nobs to walk right through all our fans as they made their way back to our cars and coaches. They were asking out as well. Had to grit my teeth as Strovolos Junior 1 & 2 were with me! Little-un said to me "can I go and hit him Dad?".... I just smiled!!
I was stood at the left hand side of our stand and saw half a dozen people get thrown out around me during the game. Early in the first half two men were violently thrown out by a number of very heavy handed stewards for god knows what. Also, at the start of the second half a couple of people got thrown out for taking alcohol into the stands.
Got back about 6.30, took my daughter to her first away game, Bought 2 tickets, £40 in petrol and 7 minutes into the game its over. I just could not believe the opening, i think i have been going to football for 44 years and i cannot ever remember been 3 goals down so early in a game. Thats football i suppose but it was disappointing and i did say on here i felt if we were second after our next four games we would have a great chance, the reason i said that was because in that period we have three difficult away games, i.e Bolton, Burnley and Palace and that wasn't the start we wanted, never mind its gone now lets hope things improve. As for today after the terrible start we settled into the game, first half give the ball away to much but neither side looked like adding any more goals in the first half. As for the second period we looked the better team but right through the game i just felt that we passed it to the full backs they put a cross in and there big centre backs headed it away, this happened time and again, i would have liked to have seen us for a change go down the middle, play on the floor football and turn there big defenders which never happened, Overall a very disappointing day for all fans and worse still for them what went
I can remember getting the "Simon Gray Sunshine Bus" to Oxford, arriving just in time for the halftime break to find us losing 4-0. Drew the second half though!
