Over the past couple of weeks there has been some momentous events within the SPL. Not so long ago happy Rangers fans were chiding Celts that there as good as 15points between Rangers and Celtic and the league was over by mid November. Now on the 2nd of November Rangers fans have gone into hiding and the league is down to 4 points. More bad news, despite numerous denials Mr Whyte who invested £1.00 to buy Rangers in the summer, he has had to finally agree he is not a fit and proper person to sit on any Board, and definitely not Rangers, as he has been suspended for 7 years. Rangers released their half year accounts, nobody could understand them because they seemed to have spent £21m approximately on nothing. Usually when Celtic or Rangers spend a million or two we or them get lumbered with something resembling a footballer. This time no player is responsible ( unless settlement of paying off Beattie's contract.) The accounts are not worth the bog-paper they are written on because no auditor could be got to sign them off. Some say because they have not paid their auditor from 2008, other say that the figures don't measure up. But there is good news for Rangers fans, it comes from the unusual source of Mr Platini who still thinks Rangers will still exist at the start of next season. However he does not think that Rangers will have the necessary Financial clout to pay in the Champions League or Europa League. Celebrations throuhout Europe from Manchester to Romania had people thinking the Euro crisis had been solved.
Good one sh - hope this is the start of many introductory threads from you, as the new moderator of this forum!
Espania Celt. It hasn't all been signed up yet. There is a dispute over my agent's fee. Just a couple of other things that I am surprised has not been discussed over the past week. Indians came to Ipox. they encountered many cowboys but saw no chiefs. Indians left in a huff of black smoke very annoyed about the chiefs. It was always my opinion that Governments should keep clear of Football. If they were to be involved they should do so in a fair and impartial manner. Why did a Government Minister fly with cowboy Smith, sacked by the SFA, but currently Mr Whyte's right hand man, at the Government expense, to Brazil to get a club in Brazil to send a crowd of players over to Rangers and the Government will try to pay their wages. Is that fair ? Am I surprised ? Well probably not !
Pride comes before a fall lads, let's not get too celebratory yet. For example, this weekend I can't see anything other than Rankers taking at least 4 or 5 off of Dunfermline U-12's. Following that we have Tannadice tomorrow which is never an easy place to go. I would be ecstatic if the points difference was still the same come sunday night...
OSP I could not agree more, except to say I will be very happy if there are only 4 pts in it tomorrow night, but I will be ecstatic as hell if it is any less. Rangers have proven over the last two games that they are vulnerable to even average teams. It looks as if Celtic are improving.
Cowboys and Indians. BBC Text just after the pen was awarded. "1534: From Steve by text: "Very refreshing to see a player with an attitude like Sone Aluko's. He really wants to be there and can create something from nothing." Timpostery at its finest.
Yes some people may think it was good to see Aluko create a penalty of nothing. Rangers players have a career of getting penalties out of nothing.
