These are worrying times for QPR fans and judging by the reaction on social media, thereâs a general feeling that questions are being left unanswered. David McIntyre attempts to answer the following questions: Is Harry Redknappâs position under threat? What about his new contract? Redknapp talks about the players not being fit. Surely heâs responsible for this? Redknapp says Rangersâ pre-season was poor. Whose responsibility was that? Has Redknapp lost the dressing room? Why didnât QPR have a replacement for Loic Remy lined up? Surely they knew heâd probably leave? Why was Danny Simpson sold? What does Glenn Hoddle do? Could QPR be relegated to the Conference? Whatâs going on with Cargiant and the plans for a new stadium at Old Oak? Whatâs happening with Warren Farm? Just confirming what he's been tweeting over the past couple of weeks. A useful insight behind the scenes but, whatever anyone says, there's something not right and he hasn't thrown any light on it...
Redknapp can have all the bull s**t excuses he wants but last year's short term approach and the idiotic approach in our Jan 13 window made this season harder than it needed to be. Lewis Grabban for £1.5m pre signing new contract with Bournemouth in Jan 14 and instead going for Doyle, Keane and Maiga on loan is the best example of his mismanagement that I always think back to. And references to pre-season effecting performances in October is beyond a joke. As for the training ground, clubs recent change of heart and plans to downsize will need a resubmitted planning application. Carolyn Brown and the dog poo brigade will be able to start there challenge all over again. So until they've done that we're not even back to square one regarding training ground
Had we really agreed a fee for Grabban then signed those three on loan instaead? If so, the January window was even worse than I thought!
I'll apologise because I know he does read this forum occasionally but it was a bit staid and felt like the transcript from a public information broadcast by QPR. It did lay everything out in a clear and concise way though. The fitness bit doesn't really wash - all of our signings will have been involved in pre-season with their former clubs prior to arriving. Good insight regarding Hoddle's role and the clarity on the ground and training facilities was useful although I wonder about the motivation for scaled back plans - I am completely happy if it is for financial prudence, however.
It is good to have some feedback into what is going on behind the sence. What continues to amaze me is that nearly every deal that we tried to sign, hold onto or get rid of a player ............. fell through. Even now, hardly a player is in form except possibly Niko. All our new signings are still finding their feet ( for want of a better word )
I thought it was a reasonable attempt to address most of the issues that are appearing on the forums.
Brighton were in for him for £1.5m as his contract was due to end that season but he signed a new one in January instead. So if we went in for him instead of wasting that money on Maiga, Keane and Doyle we would have 4 strikers this year and an asset worth far more than we paid for him. Redknapp admitted his mistake: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...-making-move-for-lewis-grabban-of-Bournemouth Infuriating to hear Redknapp go on about not having any players as half of them left on loan last season... that was his fault!!
You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately... Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!
Can't beat a bit of Cromwell in the morning. Let's bring in the troops to rid ourselves of this rump regime.
Aged only 26, he would have been an excellent addition to our squad for very little outlay. He is certainly doing a job for Norwich. Years............Team....Apps........(Gls) 2011–2012 Rotherham United 43 (18) 2012–2014 AFC Bournemouth 87 (35) 2014– Norwich City 9 (6)
