you'll probably think i'm mad but i can see this happening.

laudrup's connections with barcelona are well known as well as multiple connections in spain. villa is struggling for fitness and needs games... if barca pay his wages and loan him out, swansea is an ideal place for him to slot straight in and get fit for a month or so.

probably won't happen for financial reasons but i certainly wouldn't rule it out as nonsense.

 

On the subject of Barcelona, sad to hear their coach having to resign due to ill health.

He also doesn't fit QPR's criteria of past it, over rated and overpaid, like Anelka!

Agreed, but if they were close to capturing Villa, no doubt Chelsea/Liverpool would come in and would offer more contribution to wages than Swansea, which could at least tempt Barcelona to sway towards their offers.

 

Not so sure that finances would enter into it: if the goal is the player's fitness, then no need to send to Liverpool/ chelsea. hard to imagine Barcelona lending a helping hand to those clubs; much more about personal relationships

 

Apparently this rumour has been gaining ground around South Wales way... my Swansea-fan-housemate was creaming his pants about it. Wouldn't be my favourite thing ever!

 

i don't think it would matter. its the style of football and the manager in question that make the deal a possibility.
