    I have found this one much harder to think of 8 left backs that were great! I believe it will come down to 2 in the end, any glaring misses?


    Wilf Rostron
    Paul Robinson
    Jordan Stewart !
    Lloyd Doyley

    Tommy Mooney have a spell at left back, or at least the left hand side of a defensive three under GT. And if we do need to boost the numbers, Gary Porter played a season at left back.

    To be honest the only other 'proper' left backs I can think of are Dominic Ludden and Kenny Samson, and the latter would really be stretching it.

    We had Duncan Welbourne in the RB poll, we should at least mention John Williams who was his contemporary, and was just as effective in a less obviously bruising way.

    About the only other lb of note that I can think of is Johnny Williams - made the position his own for over a decade. But Wilf would have to be the best we've ever had IMO.
