After much debate it was put to me that running the left midfield poll was a waste of time and John Barnes was going to walk it, If you feel that it needs to be run I am happy to run it at a later date but nearly all responses came back saying they would vote for Barnes (including me :cheesy:)

    So far we have:

    GK: TC
    RB: Nigel Gibbs
    LB: Robbo
    CB: J Mac
    CB: Ian Bolton
    LM: John Barnes

So moving onto centre midfield it is.
Please can you vote for your 2 favourite Centre midfielders and the 2 highest percentages will win. I have tried to put in players from different generations but have not gone back any further then the first Taylor reign as I feel there would just not be enough votes! I am sure there will be some players left out that people feel should be in but we have to start and finish somewhere.
I think this one will be closer then other votes ......

I went for Les Taylor & Andy Hessenthaler, Taylor was a gimme but it was really close between Hessy and Allan Nielsen! I gave it to Hessy as he played more games but Nielsen was class ....

Les Taylor is a must for me as well so much underated in his time. We got slated for bypassing the midfiled but Les played a vital role in the team. Alan Neilson for me as well a class player who always seemed to have more time on his hands than other players. Excellent purchase from Spurs.

After Les Taylor, I was struggling to pick the 2nd player- between Nielsen, Johnson and Eustace for me. Went for Nielsen. But... where's Kenny Jackett? Gav Mahon wouldn't be fit to lace his boots.

I agree Jackett was better then Mahon but he was in the left back and left mid positions. And with 10 votes I still don't think he would have been in anyone's top 2, maybe everyone's third or fourth option! Maybe we can add him onto the supersubs bench . . . . Also there are 3 people who have voted for Gav so although we may not all agree there are people who appreciated his great work ethic !

Yep sorry I forgot we'd already thought about Kenny. And I would never criticize Gav for lack of effort. In that department he equalled Les Taylor himself. Just thought he was a league or two out of his depth in terms of technical skills.

As expected lots of votes for Sir Les, but very close for the second choice, was expecting Nielsen to be up there, a little surprised that AH has not had more votes but maybe the fact he left under a bit of a cloud hasn't helped his votes. And although RJ is not my choice I always rated him for his attitude and long service, his finest moment for me was the away game at Bristol City when he got 2 and both were thunderbolts! I think we won 4 - 1, great day out that one was . .

I voted for Johnno and Nielson, if forced to choose I would go for Johnson though.

Seem to remember that Les Taylor was bought to replace Ray Train! Ray was a fine player, but when he was dropped the team started to gel - unfortunately for him.
