Getting well excited by this afternoon and will be listening in extremely carefully.

Contrary to many others' views, I believe we have a squad more than capable of staying in this division.

The acquisition of the new loan signings is great. I really hope Trotta can prove his worth at this level and I also think that we did need a wide man - with Ainsworth out for a month and Betsy not going to have a cat in hell's chance of playing, that leaves our wingers pretty low and too reliant on inexperienced talent.

Add these two new ones to Beavs, Donnelly, Rowlands, Bull, Basey and Lewis as well as the young 'uns who can hopefully have some kind of impact, we have all the quality needed to stay in this divsion. It's not a title winning side but on paper it has the quality to do what we wanted to at the start of the season and that's stay in this division.

Now all we need to happen is for Waddock to pick the right players, we keep relatively injury-free, we play our guts out and we get a little bit of luck.

If all that happens we'll stay up.

    COYB!!!<ok><ok><ok>

Unlucky today I reckon - looks like we gave them a good go. And the new lad scored :)

was at the game devon, we gave them a very good and would have been worth a point. trotta looked fantastic, harris was on sparkling form and beaver scored 2 fantastic goals

however the problem seems to come from the defence. Basey made some strong tackles but lost the ball too often, foster was AWOL, winfield was bad but tunnicliffe made one of the single poorest defensive performances i have ever seen. nikki bull made a couple of fantastic saves to keep us in it at 1-0 but it simply is not good enough. we need to extends baseys loan, try mccoy, sign anew centre back to replace tunnicliffe and get LJ back into the squad

overall though a very good performance good atmosphere (in our end at least!) and a good day out, even if some little fanchise kids thought we were "plastic supporters" :D :D :D

First half we were very lucky to only be 1-0 down. The MK finishing was only matched in ineptitude by our "defending" Rowlands looks to be a liability fitness wise and will probably be out for another month now. There were however some plus points, 1) Harris is getting better by the game 2) Beavon scored a couple of crackers 3) Trotta does not look like a plonker but a very decent young striker.

I thought there was plenty of spirit about the performance today, two great goals from Beavon and a good finish by Trotta. It's true that the defence looked all over the place at times, but we should give MK some credit. Their attacking play was extremely good, and we don't have to cope with that most weeks. Very soft fourth goal though, which finished the match.
What worries me is not how we play against the top clubs. We seem to produce too many poor performances against the sides in the bottom half of the table. Unless we can find a formula that works against them I'm afraid we will go down. Trotta looks like a good addition, but we are still too lightweight in midfield, and concede too many goals. Sorry to be negative.

Cheers Jose :) Sounds like we gave them a run for their money at times. I cant really complain if we are showing spirit.

Neily I think you are spot on. The games against the weaker teams are where the manager at a club like ours, where we are fighting for survival, earns his money. The problem with playing your best games against the better teams is that as well as you play, those teams are the best in the league so in the majority of cases the very best performance is only going to get you a draw.

The attacking side of things were definitely positive yesterday, hopefully Trotta can pitch in with a few goals and help take the pressure off Beavon.

Foster needs to be dropped, McCoy although raw, has so much potential and the mistakes that Foster keeps making, I cannot see how McCoy is not being given a try. Although bizarrely everyone at the club loves Foster, he got players player of the year last year and players are always tweeting/commenting how dependable he is!

Clearly there is something wrong behind the strikers. We leak too many goals too easily. From what I have seen, we look very exposed, just as we did last year when I came to see us against Aldershot. We need tightening up at the back, ability to attack in force from defence and more support generally to the strikers through accurate passing. I have seen us play some good football so I know they can do it but once we lose the ball we are so vulnerable it's nerve racking.

Very true ron every time the ball went forward it looked very worrying. But having said that they looked just as dreadful at times at the back as well whichi kind of gives me hope that if trotta gets momentum and beavon keeps working coupled with playing donnelly, grant and harris there is more of a threat that perhaps may help in keeping us up.

But like it has been mentioned the problem is the games against sides that are in and around us. Its alright playing against the bigger sides but we need to pull out performances against those around us otherwise we are going to get cut adrift and that has to start against chesterfield. But i won't be holding my breath. I know waddock has his supporters and to an extent i agree but the defending is embarrassing and quite frankly if winfield and tunnicliffe manage to make it as professional footballers there's hope for anyone, couple this with foster who looks completely lost at times and it doesn't bode well.

But i bet any money all 3 of them are in next game

We didn't really deserve anything out of the game. Yes the front 2 did really well and were well support by Kadeem. We played Rowlands, who was obviously not ready (why did Donnelly not start anyway as he is our most creative midfielder). Lewis ran around as usual, but was pretty inneffective and gave the ball away too often. At times, MK looked like they were a class apart. Their passing from midfield stretched our pedestrian defence and left us exposed far too often. They could easily have had another three or four goals. Beavers great strike somewhat flattered us.
As people have mentioned before. When we play the "better" teams in the league we put up a good attacking display. This is because those teams don't fear us and play an attacking brand of football, therefore, leaving some gaps for us to exploit or counter. The problem is when we play those around us, who are not so attacking minded. We then struggle like hell to break down their defence and end up losing by the odd goal, e.g. Bournemouth.
This is where Waddock needs to earn his corn and prove himself. Great to play flair football against the better sides, but we need to grind out results against the rest

Morning Chairboys - Thought your lads played well in patches and gave our defence plenty of problems, although to be honest we had our right back missing, who's been our player of the season so far and had one of our young lads who have come form the acadamey in central defence. A great strike for your last goal and you gave us a lesson in shooting from outside the box. We do play some great football at times(our first goal was excellent imo) but there are times we try to walk the ball in.

I think the result was fair, and even when you went 2-1 up i felt confident we would win, i'm not belittling your team here but i just knew we had a few gears we could go up, your keeper played really well and your fans were pretty good, but the away fans always are more vocal- if you play like you did against us then I reckon you can turn things around. Good luck for the rest of the season until we come to Adams park.

Cheers WSD. I had to go to Wellingborough on Friday. Drove past the stadium on the way up (I think it was to the left as I went straight across a roundabout) and on the way back I cut through Woburn Sands and Woburn. Very frustrating I was unable to get to the game but had to be at the Ferry (Portsmouth) by 2pm Saturday to go home. Quite surprised at the score-line when I arrived home and to be honest, although we lost, it brightened up a tiring few days.

Next match, mccoy and johnson have to return to the team. Johnson is just because he's suspended, but mccoy is some ridiculous fued that once again waddock is too up himself to sort out. Foster has been tragically poor this season and Mccoy has to come in as a matter of urgency. Also, we should have strengthened in the loan window and its wierd that we didn't.

i thought mk bossed most of the game ,yes we looked good going forward, but we were woefull in defence which has been the story of our season so far.as has been said we need to beat the teams around us not the top ones ,unfortunately its only the fans that seem up for these games relegation looks a cert at the moment but i will still follow the blues home and away and hope for the best.

As predicted, the 5/4 against for Wycombe to be relegated (offered by VC) has been snapped up and they now go 7/4 on (obviously stung by those generous odds). Best price now is 6/5 on (SkyBet) and one firm (Bet365) goes 2/1 on.

Hope you all took advantage of the 5/4 against as advised.
