I just watched Newport beat Leicester and our lad on loan was an absolute star in my books. He held the ball up with an expertise way beyond his years and his distribution was even better. I just hope Lee took time out to watch him in action just over the bridge and might even think of bringing him back, although I don't know what the loan terms are and whether we can reclaim him. Happy 19th birthday tomorrow and well done from a football starved Canadian. That's what football should be all about.
not really an off topic! Pring has been recalled from them and gone somewhere else, I did note this in a couple of posts as he was not getting game time. I nearly had my first bet for a while …. and I am as sick as a parrot 3 x £8 singles Oldham QPR and Newport plus a £3 round robin and £5 to draw on PNE forgot all about it ………. started the lottery on the first day in a syndicate doing 32 lines … as ppeeps dropped out continued it eventually doing 5 lines a week then 5 SAT and Wed then a year ago went to 3 lines Wed and Sat IN ALL THAT TIME I had just 2 lots of 4 numbers …….. tossed a coin just before Christmas.. carry on or stop, then swap a couple numbers from line 3 with 2 in line 2 .. 8 draws paid for.. so far won lucky dip, £140, lucky dip, Lucky dip now a lucky dip and £30 .. I just knew I SHOULD HAVE MADE THE EFFORT
Was coming across to mention this lad. Looks a class act. Pace, ability and a good attitude. Always difficult to assess over one game, but if he can consistently perform like that, you need to tie him down before others come knocking.
They already are and I hope he doesn't get his head turned by possible fame and fortune when I still think he needs time to learn his trade.
You're right Mike. Too many leave 'lesser clubs' only to disappear totally. At that age they need regular games that mean something. As a by-product, average players end up on unaffordable salaries. Youngsters go to big clubs on big money, fail to make the grade, have to drop down a level but still want the money. We're struggling on the salary front at the moment, but I'm glad we're not going down the 'chuck money at it' route. The swans are having problems with Bony's salary. Went to man city, didn't play much then came back in £100k a week, in the championship. Hope he stays with you as it would be good for both parties. Leave him enjoy his game time at newport in the meantime.
Great experience for both our young lads in that game. We should let them both stay at Newport until the Summer.
Man Utd was looking into him a month or two back. I don’t know if that’s still the case with Mourinho gone but in fairness when did he ever look after his youth players. I think we’ve got him tied done for a good few years yet, and constantly monitoring him at County.
