Have only just seen the goals from the weekend.

My point is this. Arsenal's second was a volley from a waist high ball 3 yards from our goal. What the **** was mignolet doing standing on his line? My son plays in goak for Lumley and even he comes out and gets that sort of cross.

It was an easy catch FFS! Hope westwood gets back in for the weekend!

But what about O'Shea.....standing 2ft in front of Henry. Can't blame Mig. entirely.

Watch O'Shea mmm.. he stepped off to allow the keeper an easy catch and he never moved from his line. It was one of the easiest keeper catches I've seen and it should've had their fans sighing not cheering because it wasn't a good cross.. If that'd been Richardson crossing that ball for us I guarantee that most keepers would've caught it before a striker got near

Mignolet's done canny but frequently puts my heart in my mouth with crosses, Westwood number 1 for me and that includes Gordon. I don't expect everyone to agree, just my opinion like

He stepped off to allow an easy catch.....what?..............so how was Mig. supposed to know that. I would have thought that a centre Half would HEAD it away and not MOVE OUT of the way when a striker was standing behind him.

How could he head a ball at waist height. As a centre half you'd expect the keeper to be catching a ball 3 feet off the ground 3 yards from his goal. It was a simple catch and O'Shea did what any defender would've done to allow the keeper to catch... which he didn't.

At a height of 3 foot in the centre of goal in the 6 yard box would you not call that an easy catch. Not much pace on the ball either. Poor goalkeeping IMO

Can't blame O'Shea, put a good shift as did the rest of the team who were clearly knackered, Mig should have claimed it.

Watch the goal......the ball wasn't 3 feet when it went passed O'Shea. It was at a height that if he jumped he would of headed it clear.

Moorsley we'll probably never agree on this but as I said, a ball dropping into the 6 yard box at less than 5 feet should be caught by any keeper - the cross was too close to the keeper and should have been easily dealt with. No keeper should be rooted to his line when the ball is that low that close in - and as he can see Thierry Henry behind O'Shea he should scream to clear it (as I have heard Westwood do many times - but have never heard Mignolet) - the bloke (IMO) is a liability when the ball is coming in from the wings - good shot stopper and will be a good keeper but he cannot command his box and cannot claim an easy ball - I'd class Saturday's second goal as an easy catch even under pressure

a bit too harsh on Mig for that goal. I was more disappointed in his clearances/distribution. Westwood distributes the ball better, and that is very important imo.

Fair enough Marcus....we'll leave it at that. (but I'm right OK) <laugh>

As for his clearances....that only seems to have started the last couple of games....Frig knows why.....As a team with a 5'5" centre forward. we shouldn't be kicking it long full stop.

I thought Oshea was at fault, but you can't fault the cross or Henrys movement. I thought OShea had a good game, he made 1 slight mistake and it cost us a goal. I am not sure that Migg was to blame without watching it again, but I would rather have Westwood in goal.

I like Mignolet, but I do feel he has had a dip in form of late, particularly with his distribution which I feel sometimes puts us under unneccesary pressure..Maybe it is time to give Westwood another bash..

O'Shea was watching the front, Turner was watching the centre.
The ball dropped over O'Shea, Mingolet should have been out and took the ball and anything there abouts.
If you're going to blame a defender blame speedy gonzalez Turner, for watching it happening and not moving until Henry was on the ball.

Mingolet is a dreadful keeper, he only makes saves hit at him, even then he struggles to hold onto the ball, how many times have we watched him scramble for the ball after it has bounced off him.
He is not a commanding keeper and I don't think the defenders trust him either.
Bardsley didn't get the plaudits he should have, for that goal line clearance the other day.
His kicking has always been dreadful, kicking the ball out of play once in a match is bad enough to continually do it is horrendous. I'm pretty sure MON was shouting at him about his kicking.
Westwood is ten times the keeper Ming is.
