Apologies for going slightly off piste from a Pompey point of view. Does anyone know what on earth is happening with The Hawks? When they were relegated from National League South I fully expected them to bounce straight back, as they did the only previous time they were relegated to the 7th tier. However, after an 'ordinary' season last year, they now currently find themselves in the relegation zone of the Southern League Premier South, almost a third of the way in. Could they find themselves in the 8th tier (for the first time in their history) next season? I wonder if anyone can cast some light on the situation....
What a shame, eh devo. I thought when Shaun North left Pompey's Academy as coach and joined the Hawks, things would work out well. He has a lot of contacts in the game having been Jim Smith's assistant coach at Oxford United some years ago. He has signed quite a few ex-Pompey youngsters when they have left the academy, and have Ruben Swann on loan from Pompey for the second season running. It just doesn't seem to be working does it! Let's hope he can turn things round for them......
