I couldn't help but notice that the West London Derby is scheduled 2 days after Fulham are supposed to be playing in Europe.

Now obvious bragging rights etc aside this is a key game for both sides and I just wonder what the Premier League will do if anything? I remember a few years back when Everton had to play on a Thursday night and then early on Saturday (I think) and Moyes was fuming and he basically said the PL would never have let it happen if it were a top 4 club.

It's scheduled for the 1st October but I can't see that happening, I personally think it will get moved to the Monday, so probably the 3rd October.

Thoughts? In a game of this magnitude I personally think it would be unfair to make Fulham play less than 48 hours after they have played in Europe.

It would make sense for them to change it because its fair, but lets all hope they dont :1980_boogie_down:

It'll be on the Sunday if it isn't televised...

I doubt it, Tottenham play Arsenal that day. I very much doubt the Met police will want two major London derbies played on the same day, it is possible but I'd be surprised. From what I understand Fulham v QPR is pretty intense and we all know what Tottenham v Arsenal is like, plus we (Chelsea) play away in an early kick off as well. I'd be very surprised if they moved it to Sunday. I think Saturday or Monday is the only solution

Normally all Europa League teams play on the Sunday, there's no way it'll be on the Saturday.

Fulham, Stoke and Birmingham are also scheduled to play Saturday 3pm games so we'll see, I suspect most will have to get moved

Last time round in the Europa, all our subsequent league matches were moved to the Sunday, but they don't update the change of date until they have sorted out the kick off time as well. On the official club site a number of those matches are still listed as Saturday, but will be changed once new details are finalised. I would be amazed to see this one left as a Saturday game (although I was unaware of the Everton precedent that District Line cited).

My mistake guys, just done some research and although Everton game was played on a Saturday their European game was played on a Wednesday away from home against Zenit. Moyes was unhappy with the fact that it was an early kick off and they wouldn't move the game to Sunday, it meant that his players basically had 0 days rest in between the matches and obviously wouldn't have flown in until the Thursday Afternoon and obviously they would have needed to of been in training the next day.

Your derby will get put back, no question about that, whether or not it is Sunday or Monday depends on the Met and Premier League <ok>

All premier league (and football league, for that matter) teams get to be paired with one other team, to avoid both being at home on the same day. There's just no way they can make sure that only one of three teams are at home on the same day. I presume that we are paired with Chelsea as the geographically closest, which means that there will be weeks when either us or Chelsea are at home at the same time as QPR. In fact, if we're paired with Chelsea, I suppose most QPR home games will coincide with one or other of us.

Yeah we're paired with chelsea, I remember seeing a load of depressed looking QPR fans at clapham junction after their opening day disappointment and our game against villa.

It feels so weird having three H&F teams in the Prem.

So long as we are not paired with West Ham or Spurs the Met will not be so strict, it'll be a case of just having to get on with it <ok>

That's nothing, On the last day of the 09/10 season there were Chelsea, West Ham, Fulham and Arsenal fans on on the same platform waiting for the same train going into Surrey etc at Wimbledon station.
