West Indies leg-spinner Anthony Martin picked up figures of 4-36 on Monday to propel his side to a 103-run win over India in the fourth cricket one-day international at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Seamer Andre Russell (3-16) and skipper Darren Sammy (2-43) provided able backup as India were bowled out for 146 in response to West Indies' 249-8 off 50 overs.

The home side's innings was built upon opener Lendl Simmons' 67 off 78 balls, and Kieron Pollard's quick-fire 70 off 72 deliveries.

Seam bowler Praveen Kumar led India's attack with 3-37, while leg-spinner Amir Mishra posted 2-56.

Sammy was delighted that his team picked up their first win of the series to reduce India's lead to 3-1.

He said: "We did a lot of the things better in this game. Throughout the series, we've been improving. As long as we keep improving, I'm happy.

"We've still got a young team and we're still trying to find that winning mindset and today it was really good to see the guys putting out a keen effort."

But Indian captain Suresh Raina was not happy with his batsmen.

He said: "We didn't bat well, to be honest. Our shot selection was really wrong. We kept losing the shape. We kept losing wickets and we didn't have partnerships in between."

India's front-line bowling pair of Kumar and Ishant Sharma made a promising start.

Sharma took the first wicket when Danza Hyatt (1) sent a catch to Manoj Tiwarty at backward point off the shoulder of the bat.

And West Indies were in trouble at 12-2 when Ramnaresh Sarwan (1) was also caught by Tiwarty, this time off Kumar's bowling.

Simmons and Darren Bravo steadied the ship with a partnership of 53, before Bravo chipped Mishra to midwicket for Tiwary to take another catch.

Mishra also took the wicket of Marlon Samuels (8), leg before wicket to a googly.

Man of the moment Tiwary threw a direct hit from short midwicket to run out Simmonsand leave the West Indies struggling at 103-5 in the 27th over.

Pollard and wicket-keeper Carlton Baugh took control to steer the hosts to a decent total as the added 96 off 107 balls for the seventh wicket.

India never really got going in response. Sammy's medium pace saw off both openers as Tiwary edged behind to Baugh and Parthiv Patel, looking in good touch, fell for 26 to a stunning caught and bowled from Sammy.

Russell then removed Subramaniam Badrinath, Baugh again taking the catch, to leave India at 62-3.

Martin's short work of the middle order by claiming the wickets of Virat Kohli (21), captain Suresh Raina (10) and Rohit Sharma (39) put the West Indies firmly in the driving seat.

The lower order and tail offered little resistance, and Martin secured victory with the aid of Baugh, who stumped Ishant Sharma.
