To buy up all available players, so as to stop other teams strengthening. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16208825.stm It will either work, or they will be in administration by June 1st. Love to know what the wage bill is, they must be on par with the Premierships top ten.
this is wrong on so many levels, i used to like West Ham but with this ridiculous spending and wage budget they deserve administration
25 players??? West Ham are doing things the Pompey way, it seems. Disaster lies in wait for them, especially if they fail to achieve promotion.
Hmmm I can't make up my mind. Hopefully they'll both make the playoffs and suffer heartbreak in the semis
I'm so glad saints aint got that attitude! this is why clubs get into so much trouble.Don't get me wrong,i want a couple of decent signings in January but to risk a clubs future by it is ridiculous.Glad we have someone with half a brain in charge!
I don't think this means they are going to buy 25 players They'll assess all of them and then probably sign a couple. This is what scouts are for.
Ah, poor Sam. Has he got a few injures? Every other club is the league would love to have the depth in their squad that he does! (Not to mention the fact that he only has O'Brien and Collison to blame for them being suspended!)
I'd think most teams have shortlists of targets about that length?! It's good to have options. Unless it means he actually wants to sign 25 players, then he's a prick.
Leicester also seem intent on continuing their spending spree: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11712/7381558/Pearson-may-boost-firepower Apparently they don't have enough strikers because Vassell and Waghorn are injured. Poor Leicester, its not as if they have Schlupp, Howard, Nugent or Beckford available... We only have one striker available, furtunately for us that one striker is Rickie Lambert!
Well let us hope not too many of our players, including Lambert, are on their lists! I guess it is good practice for the Premiership.
