West Ham are planning to sue the Sunday Times and Tottenham over allegations of corruption relating to their successful Olympic stadium bid.

The Hammers beat Tottenham and Leyton Orient in the bidding process, and were awarded the right to move into the stadium in February.

A Sunday Times report suggested that secret payments had been made to an Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) executive. The OPLC was the body which decided which club would get the new stadium.

A West Ham statement said: "The suggestion of 'secret cash' in the Sunday Times article is absolutely and categorically denied.

"As such, legal action is being taken against the Sunday Times, as well as Tottenham Hotspur."

The report said executive Dionne Knight had been paid £20,000 either side of the decision. The Hammers said the payment was for the procurement of a construction partner to assist with their move to the stadium.

Last week, the OPLC said an employee had been suspended for carrying out paid consultancy work at Upton Park without permission.

The body said: "This individual had no involvement whatsoever in our stadium process.

"The individual concerned had declared a personal relationship with an employee of West Ham United FC when she joined the organisation and we therefore put robust measures in place to ensure our Stadium process was not compromised."

glad to see you hate tottenham as much as we do, fancy trying to say we bought the all 14 votes by employing someone who had nothing to with the voting, I see they've joined up with Murdoch to try and steal the stadium, maybe they should check to see if her phone has been hacked by news international.
There is no depths the spurs will not stoop too

Nothing to do with trying to get the OS.

It's trying to dig up enough dirty about everyone and everyone in order to leverage funds for the NDP.

And they are happy to drag anyone and anything through their dirty little scheme.

Spot on IZWT. It's all to do with them getting some dosh off the government to help them. To be fair, they should get some help seeing as L'Arse got it for the Emirates.
