West Ham are plotting an unlikely Anfield exit route for Joe Cole as they plan to bring their former wonderkid back to Upton Park. Manager Sam Allardyce is on the lookout for Premier League standard players as he plans an immediate return to the top flight. But Cole's £100,000 a week wages would rule the Hammers out of a permanent deal. Instead they will offer to take the 29-year-old on loan, with Liverpool still paying a significant chunk of his wages. Cole is eager to prove himself with the Reds, but a first season ruined by injury has left him skirting round the edges of Kenny Dalglish's first team plans. The new arrivals of Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam will not help Cole's cause. He is likely to bid his team, but could discuss the move with the Hammers later in the summer if his first team prospects don't seem to have improved. He left Upton Park in 2003 to join Chelsea.
There's more chance of the Olympic site getting hit by a space rocket than there is of Joe Cole going anywhere near East London.
Cockney - could be that he's p1ssed about spending at least another year in the 2nd tier of English football?
