The title of this thread actually sounds like a joke doesn't it,but City fans up and down the country are not laughing.

The Hammers are,on the advice of their Safety Advisory Group making our opening fixture at the Boleyn a one o'clock full bubble match on Sunday 7th August.This means many who were keen to attend this game will be denied tickets as the ticket allocation will be limited to 1,250 far short of our usual travelling support.London based fans who are fortunate enough to qualify for tickets will be expected to make their way to Cardiff by the early hours of Saturday morning to board a bus back to within a short distance from Upton Park and their homes,then repeat the senseless journey at the end of the game.

This is an absolutely disgraceful way to treat football supporters,and Cardiff representatives have made their feelings known.I personally think the game should be boycotted if further ticket allocations are not forthcoming and Hammers fans denied tickets for the return fixture.

What is the general consensus amongst Bluebirds on this board?
 
I used to travel to every away game pretty much, then got properly pissed off with bubble trips and just thought you know what...screw them and kept my money in my pocket!
Why go to all that trouble to put money in the bank of our competitors when they clearly don't even want us to come?
 
I'm a bit naive when it comes to the 'bubble' thing. Who sets the number of tickets available for a bubble? the home club, police or a bit of both? Surely the MET would rather 2000 blubirds inside the ground rather than the 1200 or so mentioned and no doubt many more who will travel up watching the game in pubs up there?... If their hoping the fact it's on TV will deter people from traveling they need to think again... doesn't make sense.

If someone could clarify one other thing for me...I get why eg London based bluebirds would need to travel to Cardiff prior to the game but I dont understand why they would need to travel back afterwards.?

It's a Sunday 1:00pm kick off.Only way for 1927 lads from London to get to Cardiff to catch buses back to London is probably by car.
 
of course!!...seems I was more stupid than naive... I didn't even consider the fact they'd have to get their cars <doh>
 
Crazy, we take 3,000 to QPR last year and the only trouble of note was lilly livered South Africa Road chickens throwing fireworks and bottles at us from behind a wall topped with railings - and did the police stop them? Did they f**k? They batton charged the Cardiff fans who registered their disapproval.

And apart from the lad who fell from the stand at Millwall was there any real trouble there with some 2,000 Bluebirds attending?

The place has a 35,000 capacity. West Ham will probably sell out their allocation for theior first home game but we should still have at least 3,000 tickets.

Perhaps it is the Spammers fans they can't trust and control so the restriction is for "our safety".
 
why dont we just return the favour to them?

i may be a bit naiive but this seems the only way to get back at them, i doubt there is anything the cardiff fans can do to change the arrangements in place?
 
Reading this really jarred me off. Over the years I've worked in London I've been to the Boelyn on hospitality jaunts and stuff and always enjoyed it. But this is a joke. I felt so bad about it I just posted a thread on their boards asking them how they'd like it if every Championship team made West Ham a bubble game and they lost half their allocation to every away match of the season.
I don't expect much of a response though. Berks!!! (see cockney Rhyming slang dictionary)

Won't even consider going to Trumpton Park now. Will watch on tele. However, I fancy a trip to Oxford in the Carling Cup. Haven't been to their new ground. Last time I went there, early 70's, we lost 1 - 0 to a 40 yard shot that left Bill Irwin for dead. I think the old Manor Ground had a downward slope towards the end we were defending and Irwin got caught out by the flight - amazing shot though.

Never mind, Aber would have been happy as we took their end.

I think that was a year or so after we invaded the pitch and rushed their end when the home fans started a nasty "Aberfan" chant. As usual City fans got the blame!!!
 
I wonder if the barcodes will now be subject to 1,250 away fan bubble trips and rearranged fixtures following todays shenanigans at Darlo?

M Betty, I disagree. I think the MPS know we are not what we were, but they also know that every time we go to london, like when we went to Chelsea, every hooligan from every london club will turn up to try and provoke us because of our Rep and then we and the 'ammers will get the blame. Most of the people who cause the Chelsea problem didn't support either team, they came from all over just for the aggro "Outside" the ground.
