"Viva Lazio" Can we expect the media to villify them for this or is it only when it involves individual Chelsea fans?
I wish I could say I was surprised. Given their standard anti-Semitism and the disgraceful chants to Defoe a few seasons ago, nothing appears to be too much for them.
We'll probably hear soemthuing along the lines of "we were chanting it because spurs only drew against them twice".
The behaviour of West Ham fans is the biggest cover up in football, they are dubbed by the media as "loveable East End wide boys" and "'Appy 'Ammers" but we all know what they are like. I wonder how many Matthew Harding and Pat Lampard chants there will be on Saturday or how many 13/14 year old kids will be getting arrested outside the ground for football related violence.
Are you going on Saturday mate? I am and can't wait. The atmosphere is always brilliant when we meet at Upton Park
Nope unfortunately not mate but I'll be going next season. For me Upton Park is the best London away. Enjoy it mate, we want and need a result. My blood pressure can't take another battle to qualify for the CL next year. Unless we get 6/6 points this week (which United and City will get) we're looking down the table rather than up IMO.
According to YV, it was a lot worse than that. Animals. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/181204-Disgrace
We all have idiot fans who step way out of line but this was a big percentage of the travelling fans and throughout the game they sang through their repetoire of abhorrent chants as they grew in confidence and they went totally unpunished despite coppers in the crowd. Lets hope the FA show UEFA how it's done with regards to punishing them properly.
I just don't get it. I don't even get why fans hurl abuse at an opposition player when he lines up to take a corner, let alone wishing death on other fans or making a joke out of the Holocaust. In all the time I've been watching football and in all the matches I've been to I have never felt the need to call an opposition player a ****ing ****er just because he's taking a corner or a throw in. I just don't get the hatred that emanates from people who are probably perfectly rational in all other situations. It's a ****ing game.
With Trevor Brooking having the influence he does in FA HQ? West Ham escaping a points deduction in 2007 was a miracle in itself. They are about untouchable as it gets in English Football, only United moreso.
4th official, maybe he used the numbers board as like an autocue for Hammers fans? Not only that but Tevez was allowed to stay until the end of the season despite the FA later admitting that he had to be transferred as West Ham hadn't actually sorted out the deal and shouldn't have stayed.
Every club has idiots like this but it's only ourselves, Leeds and Milwall who get the worst rep due to our past.
