    Ian 'Moose' Abrahams for talkSPORT:

"I am hearing West Ham could be about to make a bid imminently for a Premier League striker - more as and when I get it"

"The name of the player in question is Rickie Lambert - lets see what happens. Separately I've heard 2 Prem clubs interested in @Grantholt31"

Obviously this is from the Moose, the man who seems to get an awful lot wrong - but he does have contacts at West Ham. Or thinks he does.

Can't see it at all, although I can see West Ham trying it on.

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if West Ham made a bid for Rickie. If Carroll doesn't stay with them beyond January, then they will be crying out for a new striker. You can't have Carlton Cole as your number one striker in the PL for any real length of time, and expect to pick up a decent amount of points.

And ultimately this is all that the above tweet (I assume it's a tweet) is saying; that West Ham will make a bid.

Unless it's a very, very sizeable offer (and because of Lambert's age, it wont be), then I'm sure we'll just turn it straight down.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if they made a bid, also wouldn't be at all surprised if it was far beneath our valuation of him.

One point off safety...selling our best striker (arguably our best player) makes huge sense for a club not in financial difficulties. Cortese would be really testing our love if he did that.

It gets said in pretty much every thread about him but I can't see us ever selling him, we will get no where near what he is worth due to his age. I'd say he's close to being priceless to us.

I'd only be concerned if a big club came in for Rickie.

I am not concerned by this link.

A pundit on Sky said that Ricky is good enough to play for a top side if he had a bit more pace. And for us he has been a model professional...every manager's dream. Ricky is also aware how much he owes to Saints...who have got him into the best form of his career. Why would he go to West Ham?

You must mean crying with laughter. Sam Allardyce knows better than to make an offer for our top striker.

Who exactly are you telling to stop crying?

DTLW who said he can't see it happening at all, MMJITK who called it bullshit, st_brendy who said he thinks we'll just turn it straight down, Mikey who wouldn't be surprised if a bid was far below our valuation, Fran who said it wouldn't make sense, ollysaints who said we'd get nowhere near what he's worth, CBK who said he is not concerned, Beefy who called Moose a twat, OTB who also called it bullshit, or Tom who says Cortese will tell West Ham to **** off?

Yep looks like everyone is preparing the memorial service for his Southampton career.

    Cole? (doesn't count) ;)
    Carroll - injured
Vaz Te - he likes to use him out wide
Maiga - the same as above

They had Maynard and Baldock and treated them pretty crappy considering. They got paid but playing time was so limited.

And I don't think anyone is crying here.

Ahhh it's the old, 'if you use any evidence to support your argument against me you are a sad, cyber warrior' reply again.

Either that or 'take a joke'.
