Every season a team goes into freefall and drops into the bottom three when we get to the business end of the season.
Both West Ham and Norwich had a great first half to the season but are both suffering at the moment, both have conceded five in their last premiership outing, with West Ham being awful away from home and recently not winning at home, whilst Norwich are on a five match run or so without a win and were worryingly torn to shreds at Liverpool.
Of the teams in the bottom three both QPR and Reading are starting to pick up points and from being in danger of being cut adrift a few weeks ago I bet they now think they can catch the teams above them.
I think if I was a supporter of both WHU and Norwich, in the form they are in at the moment I would start to get worried. Thoughts anyone.

I said a few weeks ago on a thread about relegation to watch these two drop down near the bottom. Think Sam has enough nous to keep their heads above water but im not sure about Hughton and Norwich. I also think Wigan have ran out of miracles. It'll go down to the wire where 5 or 6 could still go down on the final day.

    Any of;
    Southampton
    Reading
    West Ham
    Norwich
    Wigan
    QPR
    Villa

There's something about the owners at West Ham I don't like. Wouldn't mind them going down at all. I have a soft spot for Norwich so hope they are ok..going to be close for both of them tho

I see your point. I think Norwich have a better team but big Sam is very good at grinding out results I think Villa Reading and Qpr will go down personally. But I wouldn't place a bet on it

Out of those 5 games two were against Man City & Chelsea at home.

West Ham and West Brom away. West Ham were aided by Mark Clattenberg big time on the day and I don't consider losing to the Baggies away as a bad defeat.

The 5th game against a very good (on the day) Liverpool and next we have Spurs who are good away from home and I reckon we will do well to get a point.

It's been a bloody tough run of games with some key players injured so alarm bells are not ringing here (yet), February may give a better indication as to what the remainder of the season is going to be like for us. We have QPR away, Fulham & Everton at home, hopefully at least a point from each of those. If we lose all 3 then yes we are the **** <ok>

Extremelly difficult to pick a bottom 3 atm, i would agree with the above list but would add newcastle to it (as of today)

Very important window for a lot of clubs and some 6 pointers aswel, its turning into a cracking epl

3 more wins and a couple of draws and we will be okay.

As for the rest I'd love the mags to go.

Quiet as mice for weeks and in total freefall, then they sign 3 or 4 players and they are back full of themselves.

Can't wait to hear their ****e excuses after they lose to Villa next week.

Thing is Cest'....they are assuming that all these players will hit the ground running and will gel with worldbeaters such as Williamson and Perch. Also, the French are not known for thier fighting spirit...see the world cup a few years ago....
With a bunch of French mercanaries bought in and led by the tactical genius that is Pardew wouldn't fill me with too much to gloat over.

To be fair we are by no means out of it yet lads, the players cannot have the attitude that some of ourselves have and we must keep our foot on the gas and Im sure they will a s MON knows how important the 40 point mark is.

We could easily go on a bad run, Newcastle will pick up no doubt, Im actually worried incase they catch us, I couldnt bare the torment at work if they finished above us!

Way too early to say who's going down, there's always a team dragged into it though.

West Ham look like they might be that team, the team to "Do a Hull".

None of the bottom 10 can rest easy yet. The banker games become tougher at this end of the season, people will look at Wigan (H) as a gimme 3 points but I'd sooner be playing Arsenal as a United fan than Wigan at the back end of a season.

Some teams look toothless, like Villa, QPR and Wigan but that could change with a decent performance...although I'd be surprised if QPR win another game this season with their stupid squad of never was beens (Cesar and Park the exceptions).

I'd be very worried if I was a Fulham fan, relying on Berbatov for goals is something no club should be doing even though he is sublime at times.

You know that. I know that. Any sensible mag will know this too but I'm talking about some of the thickest ****wits on planet earth mate. One brain celled idiots that even Sir David Attenborough would baulk at studying for fear of sucumbing to sheer tedium.

They all think these new lads are going to transform overnight, a ****e season with 2 wins in 18 games, into a good one? I cant wait to watch it crumble around them.

No one is complacent mate, least of all MoN. We need another 3 wins and a couple of draws to breathe easier but with 4 wins in our last 6 games we approach the final 16 matches in fine form and good spirit. We aer not relying on a new striker to ignite our season or a new defender to stop the goals going in.

We already have them in place since the summer and any additions to our squad this window are just that, additions to an already in form team and not just desperate last throws of the dice to rescue a calamitous season.

Mercenary or not mate I bet QPR win more points over the next 16 games than any of the others in that bottom 6. That may not ultimately be enough to keep them up but they have looked a far better outfit under Arry than at any time this campaign, which is something none of the others can boast. Reading have had 2 great results but the WBA one was a total fluke and the mags no surprise at all given their season.

QPR have dug out some cracking results against far better opposition and will go into any 6 pointers as favourites imo.

I think like many Sunderland fans of a certain age, I do have a soft spot for Norwich and hope that they will be ok (as long as we are even more ok of course). As for West Ham, not really bothered one way or the other, but I do think they have too much about them to fall into the drop zone..

MrRAWHITE, I agree with your comments about Norwich as I feel the same, it could be second season syndrome for them but I hope not, as for WHU at the beginning of December they were higher up the league and had a healthy points lead over us, now they are behind us and seem to be struggling for a decent result, they should have had one against Manure in the cup but couldn't hang on, I do think they could go the way Blackpool did last season, I've never been a Hammers fan so if they do go I wouldn't be bothered in the slightest,so them Newcastle and Wigan for me too go down would do fine thank you.

Wow I couldn't disagree more with this!

Reading have managed 10 points since Redknapp took charge of QPR, QPR notching up 11.

They should thank themselves lucky they didn't concede 8 last week against West Ham, I very much doubt Manchester City will be as toothless as West Ham in the finishing department.

If you reckon they'll pick up more points than the rest of the bottom 6 I'll be prepared to have a wager with you on that, although I might end up in jail for robbery.

Hope Norwich stay up purely cos its a tremendous place for a gargle.

Obviously would love Newcastle to get relegated and into freefall thru to the conference over the next few years, but unfortunately not likely.
I expect Wigan to finally drop out of the EPL
Reading & "the big club" to go down with them.

35 points will be safe.Qpr on 15...........still 20 points needed. say 5 wins and 5 draws. 5 losses. Do'able but very hard. i think they will go. reading on a mini run, been lucky both times, they will go. Third place is up for grabs. Not convinced that the Mags new lot will settle straight in. Between them and Villa. Going for Villa though.
