Big game this, WBA will want to give us a rogering at theirs, but I fancy a 1-0 win, with “Old Flakey” Zohore getting pulled of at half time, big relief for him! :emoticon-0103-cool:

West Bromwich Albion left-back Kieran Gibbs (virus) and captain Chris Brunt (groin) are both likely to be fit to return to the squad to face Cardiff.

The pair should be back after missing Tuesday's loss at Leeds, but Egypt's Ahmed Hegazi (ankle) remains out.

Cardiff may be without midfielder Joe Ralls, who manager Neil Warnock has labelled "touch and go" for Saturday.

Goalkeeper Neil Etheridge (hamstring) is close to a return but Isaac Vassell (quad) and Sol Bamba (knee) remain out.

    Match facts
    • West Brom and Cardiff last met in the Championship in February 2010, sharing a 1-1 draw.
    • The last meeting between West Brom and Cardiff in any competition saw the sides share a 3-3 draw in the Premier League in March 2014 at the Hawthorns.
    • Including play-offs, West Brom have failed to score in just one of their last 37 home league matches, a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United in February.
    • Cardiff haven't drawn four consecutive away league matches since February 1998.
    • In all competitions, West Brom have won three of their last 26 matches in the month of October (W3 D9 L14).
    • Cardiff manager Neil Warnock has lost none of his last five league visits to West Brom (W3 D2 L0) since a 2-1 defeat in January 2001 as Sheffield United manager.

    just overdosing on rugby.
watched the second half of aus v uraguay, had half an eye on eng v arg (not a particularly good game). now for the one I wanted to watch, japan v samoa. Come on the cherry blossoms.

will start thinking about footy later.

Big statement from Warnock and the lads here if they win at the Hawthorns with regards to their stuttering start to the season. Naturally as a pessimist I think we’ll probably lose given our struggles on the road thus far but hey... we live in hope! <laugh>

Got internet on the island of Koh Rong, not sure if the Cardiff City player will allow me to watch the game as I am in Cambodia. Will try anyway. C’mon the Bluebirds.

Cardiff City (4-2-3-1): Smithies; Peltier, Morrison, Flint, Bennett; Pack, Bacuna; Whyte, Paterson, Hoilett; Glatzel

We must be away. Hoilett and Paterson starting.

Hope Glatzel doesn't get hung out to dry on his own up there. He's not an ideal hold up player and needs someone with him to play off.

Need Pato to sit somewhere near him - that could be a real good combo that will wory defenders and not give them an easy ride.

City being completely outplayed by quick skilful offensive midfielders after a decent opening 10 minutes. But for the keeper it would be 5.
This is why I detest Warnockball. No possession and when they do have it City are clueless at going forward and easily lose the ball.
Most teams we play are similar; still a mystery how we won 3-0 in the week. WBA are though a cut above.

Ps is Paterson a footballer<doh> Hopeless so far.

City will struggle to win an away game setting up like that from the start.
Positives were City were better once the hopeless Scot was hooked & 2 good finishes by Ward.
Warnock just had to bring Tomlin on but no.

Glatzel missed an absolute sitter and then scored but he’d strayed offside from a free kick, both inexcusable

A much better team beat City today. City looked what they are, a mid table average uninspired team.

A good WBA side found us out, not surprisingly....Hull should have beaten us....how we didn’t come unstuck against a sound QPR side...don’t know! :emoticon-0103-cool:

    No.

As far as the game went, we're a mile behind the main contenders this season in quality.

Beating QPR midweek flattered us. We'll probably win more games like that up till May, but we're nowhere near set up to take on that current top group.

Watched the Fulham/Charlton game earlier on Sky - what a great game. They played out a draw but both are good enough to move into the top 6 - though I hate to say it, Fulham in particular.

Glatzel is not in the side to hold up play, (although that is necessary in part), he is there as a main striker, is he not? He looked as though he is a learner in that respect, rendering us toothless TBH! Ward and Bogle are decent strikers at this level (not PL standard)...why not bring the big man on for the last half hour? :emoticon-0103-cool:

Bogle has got to get on the bench first - where was he today?

Ward deserves a chance to lead the line, or even make a 2 up front with either big man but we need someone to play them in from 20 yards not a 50 yard punt.

Paterson was rubbish today but was a predictable inclusion away from home. This style and thinking isn't go until Warnock does.

    Found the problem.
New fangled fittings. Push a tab and insert wire. Problem is, daisy chaining lights, two wires into two holes, but one tab to press. Think the first wire popped out when inserting the second. Now sorted. What is wrong with screw fittings?
    Still got my eyebrows.

As for the game, looked for an update, 3-0, refreshed to page, 3-2. Looked at the table of scores and it was 4-2. Couldnt keep up.
Certainly looks as if ward should get a chance at 10 if colin wont play tomlin.

Any news from Matthew Bounds this week?<doh>
