A'wite boys! I'm out of the cooler (for another while at least! :emoticon-0136-giggl).

I wanted to ask you how's Wes getting on with you lads? The reason I ask is, I followed his progress right up from youth level here in Dublin. He played for my local team Shelbourne for a number of years and I always said to my mate that he'd play in the Premier League some day.

The game that put him in the shop window was when Shels played Deportivo La Coruna in the CL qualifiers in Lansdowne Road. Deportivo were one of the top Clubs in Spain at the time but Shels drew with them that night and were in fact the better team. Hoolahan was superb that night and dictated the game from midfield. It wasn't long after that that he got his move to England.

It took longer than I expected for him to reach the top but he's there at last. If Trappatoni has any sense, he'll include him in all his squads for the upcoming WC qualifiers - injuries permitting. So did he play well for you last season and does Chrissy Hughton see him as part of his plans?

P.S. We was very lucky to escape with a point last week. You played well and I see both of us being okay this year. <ok>

In all honesty, I don't think he'll play much this season. With Butterfield/Howson/Snodgrass perhaps too much competition for him. Love the guy though.

Thanks YellowLittle. Maybe the Championship is his level right now. He won a Cap when Hughton was Ireland's number two though, so there's no doubt your Manager knows whether he's good enough or not.

Good luck at the Spuds boys.

I think he can cut Premier League, just our midfield is really strong. It's a difficult one. He didn't do too badly last season but appearances became limited when Howson arrived.

Spurs ain't looking anything special at the mo. I think they can be got at. Hughton should go there with a positive attitude and have a go. If you could get the first goal, the famously impatient Spurs fans will start to get on their team's backs and you could eek out a win.

    You must be positive though.

    Bump!

My above post wasn't too far off the money was it? Okay you didn't score first but you went at them from the off and should have taken the lead with some great efforts.

Chrissy will do yis proud, I've absolutely no doubt about that.

Fair play, I was a little apprehensive about today. Could have gone either way. TO be fair we were top and Spurs were way too negative.

Hoolahan's link play with Holt in League 1 and championship was vital for our back to back promotions and i'm gutted he hasnt been given a chance this season [Bit early] but played well the other night in the League Cup, but ditto to comments above that we have such a strong midfield and now Wes will not be getting any better hard to say if hes Peaked or not but I dont think he'll get many appearances this season unless we're comfortable winning [subs] .. Him and holt though as I say have such an understanding and were pivotol to our success even last season he did well, if only he was a couple years younger he'd be in there, bit harsh to call him a poor mans david silva but because silvas so class Wes does have the hint of his play.. Quality player, remember seeing him when we had the open top bus for celebrating getting promoted to the prem.. he was running to his taxi , i said oi Wes can i shake your hand mate i dont want your autograph it will mean more to me .. the guy ran all way back to do it .. top lad and down to earth hope he can finish his career here but hard because id want him to be playing week in week out, .. sorry bit of a ramble;]
