Posted this on the 'Gazumping' thread. I have my own agenda on that one Mikra. I may be wide of the mark, but with Brendan signing Allen, publicly stating he'd love to have Ashley Williams and constantly being linked to our players I do wonder whether he was a 'dummy' to see if Rodgers made a move. After all, we could have signed him in January, and if he was a realistic target for Laudrup, then I'm sure we would have.
Watching villa-pool now: aspas doesn't look like a "bony" type of player at all --> I believe Swansea got Pozuelo instead of aspas. Aspas looks a fine player to me...
Aspas is a very decent player but I think from what I've seen Poz may actually be better. Yes, I'm biased.
Nothing to be biased about. But the way Laudrup has gone about business (and he certainly respects the clubs finances). Pozuelo, Shelvey, Canas and Amat for less than what Liverpool paid for Aspas? That suggests to me that SA9 is right, and he was nothing more than a red herring!
Red herring or not, Aspas showed nothing special in the Villa game. More than happy with the players we acquired and I have to say that Bony / Poz / Shelvey / Amat appear better acquisitions from what we have seen so far. On another note, did young Joe really look a yard behind the pace when he came on at Villa Park or was it just me.
He was hot when we first tried before xmas, then his goals fell off. To think we had a cunning plan is foolish. To think BR wasnt trying to gazzump us is is possible. I believe we didnt move because we saw better elsewhere...to the detriment of Tumulumululuwho was in hindsight involved in the whole saga
What I would really like to know is, did Tumullumulumu benefit in any way in the sale to Liverpool? If not, how much did he lose out on him not coming here? These are the things that we may never know but would answer many questions.
What I would like to know swim, is are you still banned!............... Joe has unfortunately lost momentum, and will struggle in my view now, but I'm all for the prodigal son returning some day soon!...........
SKRAWNE - Danish slang for being drunk (in Jutland)! How did you learn that? Thought you just hung out in the land of your fathers?
I'm a sucker for wordgames, but it always gets me in trouble; lately I even got myself banned from the other board (WHO would BTW have put a bet on that?).
