Yes, we're going to win the fair-play league (if it exists!)

    Our current record:

    Fouls conceded =2
    Penalties conceded = 0
    Yellow cards =0
    Red cards = 0

Many might argue that this is a league that we don't want to win anyway as it would indicate we aren't getting stuck in properly. Anyway, we're already winning fouls conceded by a country mile as our nearest opponents are Norwich with 8. Wasn't there entry into a European competition via the fair-play league some time back?

    --------------------------------------------

Monday nights game must have been Mike Dean's easiest game ever to referee.
An average of one foul every 10 minutes, mostly innocuous.
No-one coming anywhere near a booking.
No diving in the box = tough penalty decisions.
No coins thrown at his head.

    --------------------------------------------

OK, so moving on, after serious thought I have devised a new tiered system for making the playing-field more level, as follows:

    1) Any player who cost less than £5 million can stay on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.
    2) Any player who cost between £5 million and £10 million can only stay on the pitch for a maximum of 60 minutes.
    3) Any player who cost between £10 million and £15 million can only stay on the pitch for a maximum of 30 minutes.
    4) Any player who cost between £15 million and £20 million can only stay on the pitch for a maximum of 10 minutes.
    5) Any player who cost more than £20 million is not allowed to play at all.

In addition: any throw-in that travels more than 10 yards in the air is deemed to be a foul throw. (That will sort out Delap).

Any more new rules you would like to see?

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, I came across this bit of interesting info.

    Go here: http://www.premierleague.com/page/Statistics

Change the season to 2011/2012 in the pop-down box.
In the 'Players' section change from 'Top Scorers' to 'Shortest'.

Note that we have the the 3 smallest players in the PL! Followed by Routledge at no:10 and Dobbie at no:18!

I think that says it all really - massive task ahead.

Fulham qualified for Europe via Fair Play League...

The highest-ranked team from the Fair Play table that has not already qualified for any European competition, will enter the first qualifying round of the 2011–12 UEFA Europa League.

I assume it will be the same this year. So we could finish bottom and still be playing in Europe next season.

BUT... Fulham only qualified because England were one of the top 3 fair play countries. I'm not sure whether Swansea would need England or Wales to be in top 3 for them to qualify. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Fair_Play_ranking.

Im not 100% sure but i don't think we can enter the european competitions as the welsh repersentation comes from the welsh league.

That's not true, because Cardiff were told that they would qualify if they won the FA Cup.

They said they would let Cardiff have a qualify place as a goodwill gesture. And would be a one off.

The FA stated that a welsh team couldnt represent an "english" league in europe.

I'm not say i agree with that, if we play in this "english" league then we should be able to represent the league in europe. As far as im aware wales get a 3 or 4 places for europe and they can only be obtained by league postion in the welsh league or winning the welsh cup.

    Just found this - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ledges-Cardiff-Europe-win-FA-Cup-Wembley.html

If Swansea won the premier League, they would make another exception. They can't go making exceptions for one team and not another. But this should really be sorted out properly, not left to last minute decisions, as usually happens. The attitude of people in charge of football is usually... let's just ignore it and hope it goes away. It's pretty pathetic.

very true casual! say we had an awesome season and finished in the top 6 or even win a cup we should be able to play in europe but im pretty sure the fa will have a moan about it and uefa will have to step in again. if we were to answer to the FA soley and have nothing to do with the WFA would we then qualify?

pointless arguement to be fair, doubt any swans fan will be worrying about it this season! although we can all dream haha

We will represent England if we qualify for a cup, we are administered by the FA now so have sod all to do with the FAW , that is one of the reasons we moved over to them, think I saw a report a few months ago about that.
