I've just had a look at the odds for the next manager to leave their post and AN is anchored at the bottom. Kit Symons is favourite.
It is a fickle sport JR and while it looks good at the moment, this could all change very quickly as you know.
Yes, it is a fickle sport, but I haven't spoken to any fans who haven't been impressed by AN's appointment and I feel that the odds on McClaren leaving Derby could shorten very soon (currently 12/1).
I think what we have with Neil is a manager who has got the best squad in the division playing to something close to its potential.
I think Alex Neil has proved his worth mainly by revitalising the fortunes of Seb Bassong, Steven Whittaker and Wes Hoolahan, plus letting the whole team know exactly what he wants them to do! I think the man is well on his way to legend status!
Dave, he has indeed transformed the fortunes of various players and also has them playing a style that gets the best out of them, though I still have a slight concern over our defence. Having said that, they have stemmed the flow of goals from teams such as Wolves, Watford and Forest in recent weeks, so they must be doing something right. How does McNally find these managers I wonder, as I feel without AN in charge, our 'cousins' from down the A140 would still be posting on 'mind the gap'!!!! And IF he does get us promoted, how long before one of the 'big' teams come knocking on his door????
Our defence wasn't that good under Lambert either, but I remember back then people were saying they didn't care as long as we score more goals then the other team. But to be fair I don't think it's that bad, we just have to stop making that one silly mistake.
I agree Drunky. We have stopped several of the top teams from scoring, yet Wigan, Huddersfield and Charlton have all scored against us. I remember PL's ethos - we don't care how many you score, because we'll score more than you!!!
Depends how good he is at asking the board for the right money for the right player at the right time!
