Dutch press and now the Telegraph are reporting we are back in for Sigthorson from Ajax. We couldn't agree personal terms in the summer, which means we wouldn't pay his wage demands, but if true now would mean we are prepared (getting desperate) to meet his demands. But seeing as he signed a new contract with Ajax his fee will probably be higher. But I'd rather see us splash on a young striker like him than go silly on Defoe! Then there's always the likelihood this is just press bollocks.
Nice to see other teams are willing to make the same mistakes we have in the past. But until there are no more Thursday's left in the month I'm not betting against Defoe turning up.
Would like to see this happen but can't see it as we are only looking at cheap options and loans........or was that a smokescreen?
