That is a really negative view point!!! Especially considering we haven't even played the game yet...

I mean in general - not against each other. I just couldn't see Wenger being so specific as Mourinho.

Wenger (often to his team's detriment) trusts his players and set up too much to change it to suit a given opponent.

One of the few times he did change, you went to City and won.

It's a similar philosophy to Barca but your players aren't as good so have struggled at the very top level in Europe etc.

More than one way to skin a cat though.

    Dunno, tough question really.

Wenger sets out to impose his game and style (I thnk, no wenger expert) though of course he will factor in the opposition, but Wenger wants to keep the ball and play attacking football and if that works out the opposition don't have the ball so that would nullify threats.

Jose focuses a lot on the opposition. Stopping them playing(against opponents that can cause them problems) not leicester obvsiously as Chelsea have enough to put the likes of them away.

Wenger is like a sword tactically, Mourinho a shield, if you had The Fly type accident where they were merged, they would make one heck of a manager<laugh>

I think Wenger has been adapting of late and is quite happy to concede possession as long as we contain the game defensively and maintain clear attacking lines. We've done this a few times this season (best example against City), where we've soaked up the pressure and attacked in a more efficient manner. I also think we are still finding our feet, which is to say the main three - Sanchez, Ozil and Cazorla are still gelling together into a more cohesive unit.

There is definitely more to come from Arsenal, so far we've seen flashes of it in the latter part of the season.

I think as well he's been subtly altering his tactics, where some games he's used Santi, Coq and Ramsey to almost 'trap' the number 10 in a net of players, so we can suffocate the ball, and then others where he's used Santi's two footed close dribbling and Sanchez and Ozil's pace to start counters after conceding a lot of possession. Other's where we keep possession and look to the flanks to create space - maybe not drastic, but shows he's got options to try and neutralise an oppositions strengths. Definitely not at the same scale as Mourinho in tactical tinkering to nullify the opposition though...

Yes it's good to see Wenger changing his style of play. Chelsea will find it harder to catch us on the counter, than in the past. Hopefully Wenger's cheeky jibe will get Maureen to attack more. Wishful thinking.

Arsenal may beat Chelsea but Wenger will never beat Jose at mind games. <laugh>

I rather liked it. Yes it's sanctimonious but I like the fact we don't have a repellent manager and try and play a lovely brand of fussball. I guess the point of it is that the majority of the media is firmly lodged up Maureen's bung hole so it's a pleasant bit of variety to see something different.

to be fair this is slightly misleading, about half of the games have been draws i seem to remember, so it's not like he gets beat every time, plus wenger was the only manager in the top 4 to take something from Chelsea last season.

Stating that half were draws and half were losses doesn't make it sound any better at all.

Course it does. Better than all losses. Still sh*te, but there are varying degrees.
