Interesting that Wenger seems to have the same outlook on him most fans do - basically good hardworking player who needs to improve his finishing.

"To be honest he is not clinical however when he is completely relaxed he is quite good. He rushes his finishing because when he arrives in front of the goal he wants to get rid of [the ball].
But you can gain experience and calmness. He wants to do well. He is a hard worker and, physically, you cannot fault his effort. Even when he had a bad period, he has always tried very hard."

If he has identified it I am guessing they are trying to improve it (he blames the last two ACON for hindering development) Would be interesting to see how this develops over the next 8 games and next season.

If he was a young player who struggled with his final decision, you would understand it, and would hope that as he developed he would improve. But, Gervinho is 25 years old, and yet he is so terrible with his decision making. I do not think the ACON has anything to do with that part of his game.

I can relate to that. When I played (at pub level) I was always poor at shooting, but one day I realised that when you pass the ball you kick it when its in front of you to give it lift and when you shoot you need to be over the ball to keep it down. It improved my shooting a lot. I also found the way you kick the ball changes with the different type of kick and always think of it as a slap when shooting and a thump for a long pass, it helped me anyway :emoticon-0105-wink:

....if only someone had taught me that when I was young, I might have made it to average pub level.

To shoot, I used to turn my foot 45deg to meet a ball coming at you - and try and hit it with the flat of the top of my foot, I used to find it easier to keep it down that way. It's a bit of a straight shot, but if you catch it right it's like an arrow <ok>
