Arsene Wenger has ruled out a bid to take Lyon playmaker Yoann Gourcuff to Arsenal during the January transfer window. http://www.sportinglife.com/footbal...ME=soccer/11/12/12/manual_111026.html&BID=165 "He is a player I like a lot and I believe people have been very critical towards him in France, however, we won't be in the winter market for any midfield positions considering that our players are back from injuries" Wenger told Canal+. Do you think he could bring anything to the Arsenal attack and should we make a bid for him next summer? He has a lot of respect for Wenger and likes the Arsenal style of play so might be open to a move.
I think the only reason Arsene will do any business in January is if we were really off the pace of Champions League qualification. We are not deluded (unlike our poor relatives down the road) to think we are going to win the championship.
I say tie up the deal in january... The Red Mancs and other big clubs are after him as well, and not to mention the blue mancs who will throw money at everything really.
I think Dortmund will hold out until the summer, but we need to be first in line. Maybe we could try and negotiate a pre contract deal in January?
Can you honestly see Arsene/Arsenal spending upwards of 25mill on a player? I just don't know why we never seem to learn......He has this phanthom 30mill war chest for over 4 years now. I think we should just concentrate on what we have, rather than all this pie in the sky lark. To think we nearly lost out on Arteta on transfer day deadline, he only joined us because of his insistence and him taking a pay cut....... How crucial has he been to our stability and progress?
