Players that shall remain unamed should leave Arsenal and some quality replacement bought in. A player who is in his prime and is a proper leader. Someone from Bundesliga, Serie A or Ligue1. They have some quality players and even though they will come at a price it'll be worth it. Personally one of those players I would love to see is E'too. IMO best finisher in the world and would form an unstoppable patnership with RvP.
I'd go for :- GK Jim Furnell CB Ian Ure DM Peter Storey CF John Radford Nurse, please come quickly,my medicine is wearing off
Who knows? We apparently had 50 million last summer, 40 million the one before that. I have no idea what figure the sun will come up this time round but i imagine it will be quite high. Another player worth considering is Milito, not really getting a look in at Inter at the moment and we all know how good the guy can be. Also he is a big game player which we don't have enough of.
It's about time Wenger went for it proper in the transfer window. Trouble is if he does this it raises the question, why didnt he do it last year? Or the year before? He's almost admittting his policy of little spending was a poor choice, and Wenger doesnt do criticism! If I was the boss I would get rid of Rosicky, Arshavin and Eboue. How Eboue is still there after quite a few years is amazing. You need a strong centre back, strong midfielder and a quality striker. Big names, so likes of Fabregas will stay/not thing he is bigger than the rest of the team.
I genuinely think Wenger was convinced that the team he had assembled were good enough, and fair enough to him, he has given them ample opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities, which is why he has not bought big before now. I think the signs are obvious now though that we need one or two big experienced players to take this project to the next level.
Couldnt of put it better myself. I think the current crop are working their socks off, but just need that bit of extra class to help them through. They're not far off, but I think it has reached the point where the team won't improve anymore, whilst the teams around you, including us, will catch up. I think Chelsea will be strong next year as well, so it's now or never for this team, and it must be said, for Wenger.
To be fair Wenger wasn't the only one this season. Ancelotti, Mancini and SAF all thought they had a good enough group of players at the start of the season. Of those, only SAF has been proven right, and even then he hasn't exactly been proven right in a particularly convincing way, it's more a case of him being less wrong that everyone else! Either way, that should make for a pretty exciting season next year - all the top clubs realise they need to strengthen, and I think it's going to be a case of whoever's strengthens most effectively out of the current top 4 is going to be the champion next season.
There was a thread on this board a while back arguing that if Arsenal won the league this year it would have papered over the cracks. Whilst I would have dearly loved to see my beloved Arsenal win the league, I can't help but agree with this argument. I think the Top 4 have been weak this year, no team has strode out and made a mark on the Prem. It's been a case of who'll drop the least points and that includes City who have spent a small fortune. I think Utd, Chelsea, City and Liverpool will all strengthen in the summer. It's imperative that Wenger does likewise, otherwise we may well see the doomsayers predictions of Arsenal dropping out of the Top 4 realised next season. However, if Wenger does strengthen in the right places, then we will be right on cue for a genuine title challenge.
What exactly needs to change Kamran? Your statement reads a bit like an empty soundbite..... can you elaborate?
I don't think Kamran would say the above I've stated. Do you have some sort of problem understanding the word "a lot"? It's truly obvious Arsenal have to change things around next season. So, Please ensure you ask questions which can be elaborated on before you decide to question me.
Hizmo is LN17 and Kamran? Thats pretty weird. Anyway Hizran17 what are the things arsenal need to do if we are to go from contenders to winners?
False accusations, I'd say. Well, Arsenal need to strengthen more than one position according to myself and the majority of your fans. Also, if your players maintained a winning mentality for each game they were to play in, I'm pretty sure that could result in you becoming title contenders.
These are the players who I think will be leaving in the summer: Almunia Free - obvious reasons. Denilson 6M - I've never rated him. Never. He's gone backwards ever since the 2008/2009 season. He's just too slow for the Premier League, especially for a team like us. He has the pace of a turtle. Rosicky 4M - I really like Rosicky, even though he's past it, I still rate him. But he just has to move on imo, he's past his best and he doesn't contribute much when he's given a chance. Bendtner 10M - I think this kid has bags of talent, I really do. But I don't think he'll ever be first choice striker at this club. Not while RVP is with us anyway. He's been unfairly criticised at times as well. Players that I would like to see us purchase in the summer: Mexes - great defender imo, and a French international. He would cost ã0. Great back up. Matuidi/Melo/Inler - we definitely need one of these three. They would cost roughly about the same, 8M? Falcao - great goalscorer. One of the best poachers in Europe. He would be a bit costly though. 18M.
