Nah that would mean Arsenal would gain points from a player who has some of his wages paid by another club
Who is available ? Bridge may be our only option - and whilst he may be no world beater he is still fairly solid IMO
how about Alex? i think he would be immense and just the character your team needs....someone with some real bite and football to back it up with
Haven't they accepted Alex' transfer request? So there is no chance of a loan anyway. I don't want Bridge. Seen him play for West Ham last year and that was just awful. Maybe Taye Taiwo?
I said it earlier but I will say it again Bridge is a liability, I honestly would play anyone rather than him. He is too slow, loses his man, too easy to beat and cannot stay in line with his fellow defenders...... I could continue but.... not good enough for Arsenal!
It seems to have slipped under people's radar but he moved to AC Milan in the summer. Granted he's not getting very much game time for a player of his quality but I doubt we could shift him so soon.
Hopefully we don't go for bridge but it's really annoying to see vermalen yet again injured, and its difficult to try and structure your team when your best defender is constantly having injury problems. Thankfully kos is having a great spell and i think that if vermalen's injuries prevail then wenger will start looking at the prospect of having kos and mertesacker as his first choice centre defensive pairing.
Bridge is a liabilty as a defender - we may as well put Arshavin back there, I don't really see the difference !!
I've read that AC are willing to allow Taiwo to go out on loan, but Newcastle are the favourites to get him. We should try and beat them to him, he's leagues better than Bridge.
Hothead- a new year resolution for you - if Arshavin looks like Bridge - go get your eyes tested soon. I expect you think Wenger grins the whole 90 minutes?
I might be getting mixed up here but didn't Bridge play against us for West Ham and he was embarrassed constantly by Theo? I think he also gave away a penalty. He's too slow and, like someone else said, doesn't read the game very well these days.
Aly Cissokho is a potential. Wenger looked at him before he bought Santos. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/886193-aly-cissokho-puts-arsenal-on-alert-after-revealing-premier-league-wish#ixzz1iKUoH3fa
He's said that he's looking to sign a defender, but he won't announce anything until it's a done deal. The 'action' you talk about is probably going on behind the scenes, it's just that unlike other clubs, we don't go public until it's done.
