I have to smile when I see the petty comments about our so called poor attendances. The first season following promotion will undoubtably mean increased attendances the following season - particularly if the season ticket prices are easily affordable, which is the case with our friends down the road. LUFC had an average of 27k in our 1st season back in the Championship despite the top heavy prices we had to endure. Out of curiosity I checked our average attendance in the year we were relegated from the Premiership, and compared this to the last year the Wendies were in the top flight. Despite being relegated, we averaged an excellent 36,000. They averaged just 24,000, i.e. 50% less. Funny how one's memory fades over time, eh! With (hopefully) some positive moves in the close season in terms of new investment, a better and more sensible pricing policy, BM at the helm etc then I see a gradual increase in attendances next year.
They are failing to notice that comparing our situations is like comparing apples and oranges. They are still on the upswing of getting promoted next season with consolidating being an acceptable goal for this season. Let's see what happens when they start struggling to get promoted next season. Let's see what happens if their board of directors starts exploiting them and employing backwards, anti-progress policies like selling talent to cover debts on building projects that they didn't want or need.
