This isn't any sort if inside info or anything, but I've now seen two people post in different places that we are playing Boston in a behind closed doors game today and representatives of Sheffield Wednesday are there to watch Garcia.
its been on the radio as well. Garcia should be kept but IF he wants to go how about a deal for that lad Madine ?
well what's the situation in terms of his wages? is he on a lot still? I'm a bit lost with his situation.
He's not on much, he was just put on a rolling monthly contract at a low amount until he proved his fitness.
Good luck to him if he does go. I'd have liked to keep him here as back up and get rid of a few others- McShane, Cairney etc
yeh i'd rather he stayed to be honest. Just read some rumour about Heskey which made me **** my pants almost, it'd be a joke to get him in and rid of garcia
The Wendies might be there at Garcia's request, he can indeed walk if he wants to, or he may be giving us a nudge to sort him a full contract.
I don't want Garcia to go as he's a model professional, always gives 100% and gives the team something different. However, he needs to think what is best for himself and his family. If he does go to the Wendies then he probably wouldn't have to move as the commute shouldn't be too bad so it's not a bad option for him.
deals can be done. Garcia is a decent chap so i guess that he will stay and sign a new deal. Wendies have no money anyway even for his wages.
But wasnt the suggestion that we swap Garcia for Madine, or am I misreading it? My point was we're not in a position to swap as we have no hold whatsoever over Garcia. Why would Wednesday give us someone in return when Garcia can walk for free?
I was using it as an example - not a good one i accept - but i dont think anything will come of it as NB wants Garcia to sign a new deal and from what has been said by Nick that is one of the situations that has to addressed before Nick signs as manager full time. I also think NB will get better than Madine. But yes technically Garcia can walk for nowt if he so chooses to.
We are playing Boston away at a friendly match - mark cullen tweeted that yesterday. But didn't have a clue about sheff wed, but hope he doesn't go - i like him
Would be a shame to see Garc go, think he has a part to play for us this season but if he wants first team football then you can't blame him for wanting to move on. Wish him well if he does go.
