It is almost definitely going to be sold for less what it was built for after the FA board unanimously accepted the bid https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45665700 They are still giving the bollocks about "investing in grassroots football" which the richest FA in the world cannot do right now. This seems like a really stupid idea to me - do you lot agree or not? If not can anyone persuade me otherwise?
Don't see the problem with selling it. What exactly changes by selling it? Finals/internationals/playoffs are still going to be played there, will just host some more events throughout the year as well. Why not get a big chunk of cash for something they can still use as before? Would be great if the money does get spent well, but knowing the FA it won't be
So Fulham are to become the biggest London club then? Perhaps they will rent Craven Cottage to Spurs for the next 5 years until Spurs new ground is finally finished?
Not overly fussed who owns it as long as the normal cup finals and international qualifiers take priority over any other events Hopefully friendlies/ the new nations cup moves around the country, as well as the semi finals.
Would be good to spread some qualifiers around too. I think we’d have a better chance in tougher games in a tighter stadium with a better atmosphere than the Wembley drone.
Shouldn't have been built in the first place... Will the F.A. have to pay for the use of the place for finals, England games etc?
Apparently the plan is to hold all competitive games there but friendlies are to go around the country as per the last international break where the Nation's League game vs Spain was at Wembley and the Switzerland friendly was in Leicester.
There was something know the news which said they can buy it back at a fraction of what is being paid for it, if some sort of targets are not hit I wasn't paying attention but it was that if Khan pays 600m and certain targets are not hit, fa get it back for 100m. Something like that
If it doesn't meet UEFA elite status then the FA can buy it back for £100m - tbh it is pretty much impossible for it to fail as it refers to quantity not quality like the stadium must have at least 50 seats in the press room and a 20ft referee dressing room https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_stadium_categories Have read that with inflation, Wembley cost over £1bn to build - the deal is looking even more **** as time goes on.
Yes I remember that, if Levy hadn't taped a 50p coin under ever seat on their end it would have been empty.
