I am not being over confident (just planning ahead) but if we get through to the FA cup final there is a good deal on a new hotel that opens next month on Olympic Way and so a short stroll from the stadium. I have booked the Friday and Saturday at £79 a night including breakfast and you can cancel the room without penalty should we lose the semi final. I posted this in another thread re hotels for the final, Ricardo made the same mistake. Those rates are NON REFUNDABLE but very misleading de to be advertised as 'free cancellation'. I was suspicious when looking at that same deal myself so investigated, and eventually after being passed down a line of 4 or 5 lackeys to an important manager person, I finally discovered that the free cancellation means you pay no extra fee to cancel but the rooms are non refundable. Refundable rooms on that weekend start from £210. So fingers crossed for you I'm afraid.
No cancellation charge applies prior to 14:00(local time) on the day of arrival. Beyond that time, the first night will be charged. This is stated on my confirmation and there will be big trouble if they try that one on me i'm afraid as i have not paid anything upfront (ie pay at hotel) as is normal for non-refundable rooms. But thanks for the heads up - i will be watching them LOL
