    Good evening all,

Being in the 3rd round of the cup draw is all that matters, but a few points below for those not there

The game started at a fairly low tempo but with argyle in complete control and keeping the ball well. Didn't look like there was going to be much end product but all of a sudden we were 3 up and the game was effectively over. To be honest Welling never turned up in the first half and when the 3rd went in we were looking at the potential of a hammering.

Second half was a different affair, Welling pressed higher up the pitch and argyle sat back so it was no surprise when we conceded, although Trotters ended up on the floor during the lead up to their goal which presumably was as a result of a foul on him. We let Welling play a bit too much although some would say that at 3-1 up it was more important to sit back and protect what we had. No sure really but there was a lot of misplaced passes and although I never thought the result was in doubt i was more nervous than i should have been. That said, we also had half a dozen decent chances that didn't go in as a result of wayward shooting and some good (at last) defending by welling.

Cole went off with what looked like a nasty injury following a legitimate challenge by the attacker although the ref saw fit to book him. The ref and linesman on the Lyndhurst side where awful- not biased , but just not very good at their job.

My MoTm....no one really impressed, probably Allessandra because at least he kept going and looked most likely to score, or possibly Gurrieri for his enthusiasm. Reed was out of sorts.

A decent effort all round, that could and should have been better against a poor Welling team, but as I said, being in the 3rd round of the cup draw is all that matters.

    looking forward to 4pm tomorrow.

No we didn't close up shop in the normal sense Plym, we just stopped playing with any tempo and gave the opposition a sniff of getting back into it, so the last hour would probably go down an average performance at best.

Ill try to remember to post the outcome of the draw BC- might be too busy booking accommodation in Liverpool, Manchester or London (or maybe Yeovil!)

Can't argue with any of that lyndhurst it is pretty much how I saw it as well including who played well enough to even be considered for MOM. I thought the Ref was pants and the lino on our side was indeed hopeless. He gave us an off side when our own player passed the ball to the bloke. How he couldn't see it astounds me.

It was disappointing even though a win and comfortable. The second half was absolutely crap from Argyle. I can imagine Sheridan saying in the halftime break, "ok lads you have this won so job done. Go out and maintain lead and don't do more than you have to. Don't get booked or injured." As a spectacle it was rubbish. Welling are poor but were made to look far better than they are by us. Job done and should be happy but if that was for the next draw to be away to Preston then whoopdie doo.
