Now, i'm not usually one for singling out a player when we underperform but Wellens yesterday was total garbage.

I don't think i've ever seen him play that bad and we often play **** when he does.

Overall he'd scrape a 2/10 for me, he probably played one forward pass and everytime someone challenged him the opposing player won the ball.

His performance was a total disgrace and his captaincy should be taken from him and given to the only player in the side who showed any sign of commitment and drive and that is Kasper Schmeichel.

I am dreading West Ham away now, this week was supposed to be a draw at Brum and two comfortable home wins to give us momentum into probably the biggest game of the season and unless something drastic happens then I can't see us doing anything at Upton Park.

Fernandes, Danns and Dyer need to play and King, Wellens and Abe need to be dropped.

I think the whole midfield didn't function yesterday (although Dyer did well when he came on). Whether that was down to a lack of width in the formation or an off day or whatever else. Who knows? I think our midfielders typify our season. Not one has been consistently good. They've all had good days, but they've all had off days as well and games are often won and lost in the midfield and until we get them performing consistently like we know they can, I think promotion will be difficult.

Wellens is the best midfielder we have at the club and the only with who can create something. Yesterday he couldnt get in the game but he was still miles better then Andy King

Wellens rarely has a bad game so I aint going to lay into him after 1 bad game

Did anyone see all the twitter rumours before the game yesterday that Neil Danns stormed out the ground after he found out he wasnt in the 16. Danns then said he only went to get his family and he is fully commited to the club and waiting to get his chance. Just seems strange who started the rumour as we dont need stuff like that going round

Agree Wellens is our best midfielder, I rate him as the best in the division.

But yesterday he was absolute dyer.

We're not attacking teams nearly enough. We get the ball and pass it around but its all Bamba to St Ledger, St Ledger to Peltier, Peltier to St Ledger.....

Then when Wellens finally gets it he plays it back and we go again with the same dull and boring football.

I bet that the majority of the game was played in our own half. Not because of Millwall's brilliance, but because we did nothing with the ball and got what we deserved.

Millwall impressed me though, I thought their support play to the big number 7 was excellent. They played probably the best defensive display I have seen here since the Premier League and their attackign was fast, smooth and slick.

When we played Birmingham and Robbie Savage was doing the analysis he couldnt believe we had Richie Wellens on the bench and he said he is the best midfielder in this league

What disappionted me yesterday was their keeper is clearly **** but he didnt test him at all. Now long range shots, we didnt close him down all the time. He made alot of errors throughout the game but we had no one their ready to punish it

Agreed. Don't think Millwall have been given enough credit for the way they played.

    Yeah, I agree with him.

Trouble is he has a bit of a short fuse.

Yesterday the Millwall players doubled up on him and King and he instantly became annoyed.

He was garbage and he needs a rocket up his backside in time for West Ham.

    Yep, I agree again.

Trouble is though, their back four was immense.

I don't think we'd have scored if we'd carried on playing for another 4 hours.

In fairness to Wellens. King does absolutely **** all and Michael Johnson isnt the most mobile player in the world so Wellens had alot of work to do yesterday. We lacked energy which Danns or Fernandes would have provided

Yep. why Fernandes didn't start is beyond me.

HE came on for Abe midweek and looked in a different league.

    The midfield i'd choose for West Ham away is probably;

    Danns
    Wellens Fernandes
    Johnson

personally thought Wellens played okay under the circumstances. He was grafting all match and was up against it as the rest of the midfield were pretty useless. Andy ****ing king - was totally anonomus (again). That lad clearly has some talent but he ain't displaying it and hasn't since last January. King is clearly a Sven favourite but we are carrying him and have been for some time. The lad is trading on past reputation and is very very leightweight. He did nothing yesterday except jog around the pitch and point. Man marking or no man marking, it's a man's game and he looks every bit a boy. He needs to pull his socks up, toughen up, and get stuck in. Total waste of a place that should have gone to Danns. King wouldn't even make the bench for me at the mo as he looks a league 1 player and nothing more. When the team plays well he plays with confidence but if we are roughed up a bit he goes into hiding (flat track bully sort of player). I think he has been found out (man mark King with an ugly brute, give him some stick and he'll be in your pocket as quiet as a mouse all game).
