I was out drinking last night. I've watched every poor 0-0 or 1-1 this season and I missed us scoring 3 goals, one of which was a freekick. Absolutely raging. Nice finish from Stevie though.
He was absolutely top draw last night for the half hour he was on. He basically showed the rest of the team how to properly cross the ball, something we've struggled with big time recently. Good game and a great performance from Stevie - shame Newcastle played like a team fighting to grab a draw.
If Carroll can't score with those pin-point crosses then we are seriously ****ed I personally see Gerrard's return being huge for Carroll and possibly a massive turning point for the lad.
He hit the bar to be fair. He's just needs to keep going and Gerrard providing him service over bloody Downing will help.
You could have Pele and Maradona up front, but without the correct service, they will not score. Caroll looked isolated up front, until Stevie came on, and then all of a sudden three great chances in succession, would have loved that header to have gone in, lets pray Stevie stays fit. Intresting that we score three without Suarez, for me he should not be played as a lone striker, think he would be more effective as a support striker, maybe in a 4-2-3-1
If he keeps it up it will be just the sort of ball Carroll requires. I remember saying last season...we have someone who can provide a ball like Barton did at Newcastle, only better. **** I hope his groin/ankle keeps from rotting off.
Yeah I agree. A very forward heavily line-up would sort us and Carroll out. Been years since we had players who are good at going forward!

Gerrard came off the bench to seal a 3-1 win after Craig Bellamy scored twice in reply to Daniel Agger's own goal. The 31-year-old midfielder feared for his career during an injury-hit 2011, but Dalglish said there was plenty more to come. "He's got a lot of years to go yet and we'll look forward to that," he said. "When Steven's not playing he's influential so I suppose you can add the word hugely influential when he is in the team. "He's getting back to fitness which is fantastic reward for him and everyone who has worked with him to get him back to the level he's at now."
