I never do this coz i never hear anything i believe could be true, however:

Was at work the other day and was on the phone to this awld fella (87) very nice chap, once we had finished discussing our business we got on to football.

Anyway, hes a massive life time Man U fan and has gone to like every game for **** loads of years, knows all the regular fans and that, knows a few people involved with the club and he recons were gettin Wellbeck for 6 Mill!

Not making **** up, just passing on what i heard lads!

Would be happy with that if true?

Also, mags are doing there business very early which im kind of angry and jealous about however not sure about who there buying, could be **** could be class!

I just can't see it happening. It didn't happen with Johnny Evans and it wont with Welbeck. Fergie will want to play him this season.

Being in the wise old group myself I find that over time you lose touch with inflation, what seeded a fortune a few years ago, ie 6 mil, is now more like 16 mil, hope its true mind.

It would be the signing of the century for £6million.

If we paid double that, i'd still feel we'd done alright.

£16million, you know what, based on his form pre-injury, his age, and the way him and Gyan linked up, still worth it.

Above anyone else, if we got Welbeck personally, i'd be right up for the season, the lad was unreal for 10-12 games.

Sorry to piss on the fire and that but Fergie has already said that he see's Wellbeck playing in Man U's starting 11 this season.

.... But, if there was any, absolutely any glimmer of hope of getting him, I'd be well happy. When he hit his form period before the injury last season he looked a class above the rest.

On another note ill be well unimpressed if we dont sign this so called marquee player to replace bent like!

I cant help feeling a tad jealous that the scunks are actually doing some business and were just sat in limbo for weeks on end doing nowt it seems!

I know that we will get our targets and all that just, ffs we need half a team and would like to see some movement by our club!

Mind you the last 2 players they have signed have failed medicals but are bosmans but they have given them 5 year deals!!! Something they wouldnt give Nolan, a proven premiership midfielder with 12 goals last season, doesnt make much sense really! Hope their complete flops!

Would like our club to be making some moves however im a little bemused by the skunks transfer dealings and dont really think Pardew has a ****in clue what hes doing! Im not convinced with Bruce either mind but think he marginally has the edge on Pardew haha

I'd love to see Welbeck sign provided we don't pay more than £12 million;it depends what his role is going to be.The problems that the England under 21's have is the inability of Welbeck and Sturridge to convert enough of the chances created according to an article in i yesterday.
I wouldn't disagree with that and would love to see Welbeck here as a creator for Gyan and A N Other.
If we're looking for is an out and out striker I'd much rather have Sturridge at the £20 million Chelski are supposed to be looking for

While i agree that i'd like to see things moving, and admit that the Toon have signed well, they haven't signed anyone that i'm overly convinced over.

3 good player, but Ba is the only one i could have seen being a decent signing for us.

I think the Marveaux signing gives us a free run at Zog, unless Liverpool want him.

I'd love to see Welbeck back with us on a permanent deal, but like others have said it's going to be nearer £16m than £6m. If it does turn out to be £6m, I think Brucey must have sold his arse for the night to SAF. :)

6m would be the biggest coup since SKP.

I reckon we might have a chance in January, when young Danny is disillusioned with Fergie blatantly lying to him. There's no way he's getting in the starting 11 with Roo and Hernandez. Prob won't even get on the bench with Berba and Owen. Poor lad.. He'll be starting in the CL group stages when theyve qualified, and the Carling Cup.

At least a hand job, maybe even a blozzer...

...or maybe SAF fancies a go on Bruceys daughter, she certainly didn't get her own mans rugged good (ahem) looks...

tbh, we don't need Welbeck if we sign N'Zogbia as we will play a front 3 of Sess, Gyan and N'Zogbia and can't see Welbeck coming to us to be a squad player when he is going to be one at Man Utd. We will look at another loan striker and a Bosman
