I suppose Brighton would be the sentimental favourites since they haven't been in the Prem before, they haven't spend like we have, they haven't abused the loan market like Watford or had a Prem player loaned back to them after getting tons of cash for him (Palace). But who cares - us qualifying on the last and going on to win the whole thing would be a great football story.
They were on an amazing run to make it to the playoffs, they pretty much used that to drift through it. I think Brighton are favourites due to general form, and anyone that claims we are favourites over a "deflated" Watford side is talking bollocks.
Forest were beaten by Blackpool in their final game and Blackpool were eventually promoted. Forest were beaten by Swansea in their final game and Swansea were eventually promoted. Forest were beaten by Leicester in their final game and...
Theres another trend thats probably going to break, just like our City ground record ... i still believe though
We can beat anyone on our day. We just need to have that belief. In many ways I think it's good to have the home game against Watford first. We can use that to get a couple of goals' advantage.
I still say we were unlucky against Watford at home. A one-in-a-thousand-strike went in for them and we had a clear peno turned down. Could easily have been 2-1 to us. And Watford were great in that day too - they were piss poor today.
How did the Forest fans react to your winner?? Congrats by the way, easy to say now but good luck in the playoffs lads.
Come on fellas, anyone can win the play offs, each game is like a cup final. Anyway, we need you to go up so we can carry on the banter Good luck fellas!!!!!
Not great- there was a bit of nastiness with one of our substituted players. But the fans did applaud our players off afterwards which was pretty dignified. It was a real competition and they saw the better team on the day won, I'd like to think our fans would have done the same thing. It's like supporting the team who knocks you out of a cup I suppose (that's what I always do).
Good luck in the playoffs - three really good teams and Palace. It'll be hard but Leicester have every bit as good a chance as Brighton and Watford and your lads do seem to be finding a bit of form again. Also, well done on the Avatar AKCJ! Striking.
I actually think the slump will now work in our favour Watford will be disappointed of not getting 2nd Brighton have done well to keep their form going Palace stumbled over the line and have been poor for weeks (Still need penos, Diving cheats) And then we was confidence wise completely rock bottom and play offs was over last week. We beat our local rivals in dramatic circumstances and pip the divison form team to 6th. From under achieving to the play offs we have made it against all odds.
maybe they didnt spend like us, but they did gazump us for craig mackail-smith and also have bridge and vincente....
If the players go into the game thinking this, we will lose, they are professionals who will be just as up for it like the time they beat us here a week or so ago. Whats the situation with Watford anyway, whos in/out? is it Deeney and still down to 3rd goalkeeper?
