    A week today...

And I admit my current confidence of us getting a positive result is very low

Based on the way I've seen us play this season, and seen the a couple of times, it shall be a very difficult game for us

Obviously I want a fantastic result but currently I see no reason to expect one

    Anyone else as optimistic?

Not sure myself mate they aren't playing their best either so it could go either way. Barcodes at work seem to think it's a foregone conclusion as we'll shoot ourselves in the foot again in the dying minutes, hard one to predict though.

Im with you on this one Ji, I can't remember being this pessimistic before a home derby, ever.

Newcastle are stronger, look like they have got goals in them and play good attacking football. We don't.

Obviously hope im wrong but 0-2 wouldn't surprise me

If our team is this same as it was vs Manure then I don't know what to predict.

If the reports are true, and Saylor and Coloccini are going to be back, and possibly Krul, then I think we can beat you, but I aint gonna predict anything.

I have the same feeling that I did before the 5-1, and the 0-1 last season, when you were considered the better side before the game. We are considered the better side now, but I still have the same feeling. I'm not more confident, especially since we only managed to draw against you at SJP last season.

If Cattermole played I would have been a lot more hopeful

Meh, you're obviously going to sit back and hit us on the break in this game. You don't really need an enforcer, just try and hold possession while you have it, and stay compact.

That's what we try to do to every team Tash, but so far we have looked very poor even trying to do that. Cattermole not playing wont affect our tactics

hopes Bardo is back and Gardner moves into midfield replacing an out of sorts Colbeck or possibly Larsson.

I think both teams star men are attackers, this game could be settled by which team handles the oppos forwards best, HBA BA CISSE vs SESSEGNON FLETCHER JOHNSON. I think we will utterly dominate midfield and have more possession but it all comes down to which forward line can do the business. This stat is currently the one I'm using to try and tell myself everything is going to be okay...

27 - Sunderland have had fewer shots (27) than any other team in Europe's top five leagues this season. Siena are next with 45. Timid.

I think we'll get beat 9-1, there by equaling the highest ever away win in England's top division.
