Thanks for posting that, a decent article to read with some good points made. Now just waiting for the pro Allam brigade to shoot it down....
Why? What would be the point? Was a good article, and well written too. I'm still sorry to see Nick go but was happy to see AP go. I still think the Allams know what they're doing though, we'll get a better manager than Nick, as well as a director of football who concentrates on the club and not his many other business dealings. Regardless of the list of things they've done for the city and more than likely a few haters on here, I'm saddened people still post the vitriol about them they do. As much of a legend as Nicky is, he's still not done nearly as much as the Allams have for the City and he never will.
I cant agree with the regret at Adam's sacking, not for what he's done in the past with this club for which he'll always be revered but he clearly has Eff Cee's interests at the top of his agenda now and why wouldnt he? It was the right time for him to go and we need someone who can devote all his time to City and not just be a source of steady income while he concentrates on where he has invested.
A very good article. Last paragraph and 2 lines just about sum up the current situation @ Hull City,, imo.
The article is bollocks. It takes exactly the same stance as a lot of people on here which is 'You either feel so upset about Barmby and Pearson leaving like it's the worst thing to ever happen in the world ever, or you're a ****' Everyone is entitled to their opinion on this, whether it is proved to be right or wrong in the long term, it doesn't deserve being called a '****ard'. I hope the wife of the author of the article gets bummed by his best mate!!
The last point was something I expected a few weeks back: "10. Several people known to us have now decided to spend the money originally saved for season tickets on other things. Delaying the issuing of renewal forms so long is in danger of becoming a grave mistake by City." Whilst the Allams wish to delay the sales of next seasons passes for what they consider to be fair reasons (wait until the new manager is installed etc etc etc) I do expect a lot of people will end up spending the allocated cash on something else. Meaning next seson they will either pay on the day or maybe not turn up at all. Not good news if that habit spreads.
Time is ticking for season pass holders to renew! I wonder if we are the only club in England who hasn't contacted pass holders regarding renewing for next season
That suggests to me after a manager has been named. I wonder if they're expecting a sudden wave of interest after we appoint some barnstormingly popular name?
The allams will be hoping the new manager brings in more interest for next season. Depends on who they appoint though doesnt it!
Hence why Messrs.. Brown - Dowie - Laws - Blackwell - Dolan and such like wont be the next manager,, imo.
There is only one thing that is blindly obvious to me and that is WHY NB has gone the route that he has instead of speaking publicaly about any injustaces done to him, this can also apply to AP. Let's face it they are never going to get their jobs back, therefore to me it is about the money now isn't it? Oh wait I hear you say as it was never about the money it was about their good names and reputations, fair enough point I suppose BUT if that is the case why have they not come out with their side of things, why let the Allam's rule things if they are so wrong in the way they have done things, please do not make anymore excuses because if NB and AP are whiter than white why pursue it through money grabbing solicitors as they don't need the money do they? They are just allowing the Allam's to rule things or is there more to this than meets the eye? I sit in the middle on this one as I want to hear both sides before making any decisions unlike a few on here.
A good article and I am relieved there are other people who think like me. One of the comments after the article gives a link to a newpaper article. Have not had time to read it yet but will do later.
If that's you when you're waiting to hear both sides before making up your mind, I'd hate to see you when you're jumping to conclusions.
Lets face the fact that this article, just like every post and comment about the goings on at the club is just an opinion. I dont know what went on, what was said or what is planned and the truth is not a single person who posts actually knows for certain just what happened. If they are so bad lets all stand up and march round town with banners and get the Allams out of the club. Yes, I can see it now forming up by the Vicky bogs and gathering pace to the KC, onward we shall go until we force the Allams to capitulate and resign. We can build a club out of the ashes, one that will pride itself on being open and can justify every action and word to the supporters. Like ****... How many signed the online petition for Nick Barmby? There are too many people who see wrong in everything, they cannot wait for the full story to be told (it never will anyway). Does anyone really want to see the financial support that we as a club get from the Allams dry up? Hull City was a poorly run business, with a costly infrastucture and too many employees. It has to become financailly stable and unless it does, it will not survive. Some may recall that I met a former club chairman on holiday. We discussed Hull City and he told me of the problems that he had whilst in charge of his club. It took him ten years to get the club to have a stable structure, one that did not lurch from season to season. He brought in well known managers, he spent good money in the transfer markets and watched as every season the debt rose and he ploughed in more money. When he had had enough, he sold his shares and walked away. He has never been back to the ground again, no one ever said thanks. So what do people want? A club run by a Chairman who tells the media little detail of every little incident? Maybe a Chairman who just lets others spend the money how they seem fit (Oh we've had him). A Chairman who we all can trust (David Lloyd anyone). The arguement is all about who keeps his word. Not one statement by the Allams has every been shown to be wrong by the media, I'm sorry but until that happens I can only conclude that what they have said is the truth.
