The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body has issued a deferred decision ordering S.S. Lazio to play their next UEFA club competition match behind closed doors. This sanction has been suspended for a probationary period of two years. In addition, a fine of €50,000 was imposed on Lazio for the racist conduct of their supporters, ignition of fireworks and incidents of a non-sporting nature at their UEFA Europa League group stage game against NK Maribor in Slovenia on 6 December 2012.

Maribor have been fined €17,000 for insufficient match organisation and throwing of missiles and/or fireworks by their supporters at the same Group J game.

In another decision, Lazio have been fined €90,000 for the racist behaviour of their fans, throwing of missiles and/or fireworks, incidents of a non-sporting nature, late handling of their team sheet and late arrival at the stadium, at the UEFA Europa League group stage match against Tottenham Hotspur FC on 22 November 2012 in Rome.

Tottenham have been fined €10,000 for crowd disturbances at the same Group J game. An appeal may be lodged against the verdicts within three days of the dispatch of the reasoned decisions.

So one set of racist chanting and flares gets them a 90k fine whilst another gets them a 50k fine and a suspension for a match behind closed doors hanging over them. I don't understand, do UEFA pull their punishments out of a hat?

Being a bit late is roughly equal to being racist, chucking stuff about and random, undisclosed incidents, obviously.
    Good old UEFA! <laugh>

But why was one lumped with a 2 year suspended behind closed doors punishment? I guess it could be accumulation for 3 instances of racism in one season but still they're valuing racist chanting(on it's own) at pretty much the same level as two instances of lateness, that just seems wrong for me.
