We dipped out toe in the water and found that the water was hot, no surprise there but there were many positives. In Vorm,we have obviously acquired a class keeper and our pre-season worries over that position have been eliminated.10/10 fantastic. Welcome to Swansea, In the first half we had a lot of good possession although I did feel that Man C were sitting back and watching how the new boys played and in the second half Mancini said go get them. The Swans, in the first half were getting 2/3 rds of the way up the pitch then passing back to Vorm then going up the other side then back to Vorm because there were no further forward options. Not sure how many back passes there were to the keeper but there were a lot. Ok they were being cautious but they showed good passing skills and we will win lots of plaudits for that but there has to be more movement off the ball, like the Man C players second half, mid-field getting forward into scoring positions, more penetration. Sinclair showed moments of speed and class, beating his man, making his cross only to find not a Swansea player in the box. Dyer as well showed speed although a few of the passes to him were a little too far forward but he showed the pace to cause problems. Again he will need players in the box to lay the ball off to. More urgency is needed from the mid-field when they see those players getting forward, it was shades of Georgio Chinaglia from the mid 60's, previous thread, who would beat players, get there and pass into nowhere because there was no-one there. There should have been players there. Lets be dynamic. Back to reality, it was Man C who will give Barca a good run for their money this year, make no mistake of that and we will not be the only Premiership team, and how lovely does that sound, that will get a good thumping by them this year. Wigan this next weekend, at home, a more realistic test and more than a few reasons why we would like to win that one. Brendon, tell your team, go get them! Fantastic away support by the way, be proud Jacks! I could hear you loud and clear on my tv, I think Cardiff City might have even got a mention in your songs lol. How nice of you to think of our local friends in the Championship.
Actually I thought we can have a chance to get 1 point in the first half, however, in the next half, our players seems to get nervous. Probably they get pressure from their first EPL match. anyway Vorm showed a good performance throughout the game, and I am slightly concerned about our strikers' ability. I've heard some rumors about additional sign to strengthen our forward. Is it true?
