Sunderland were excellent today, easily the best performance by a visiting team in the prem
Oneill got his tactics spot on and I was surprised by the passion and commitment shown by the whole side especially after such a poor performance against Everton.
I came away from the ground thinking we'd pinched a point rather than moping about not winning
So fair play, must give credit where it's due

Stoke and Sunderland played quite similar in a lot of ways, where cartermole sat in front of the back four and constantly broke up the play releasing sessignon and larsson, stoke pressed us collectively but achieved the same result of starving yaya toure & silva of areas to exploit in behind
Bendtner would never have been allowed to leave arsenal if that was his level of performance week in week out.
Perhaps the freedom of having no real worries relegation or top 6 wise gives some teams a chance to just go for it
While it was refreshing to see a competitive game at home,I would much rather you had tried parking the bus

You'd be pushed to find a SAFC fan who didn't think we'd get beaten today. And its good to see someone say you gained a point rather than dropped 2! Agree about Bendtner mind - he looked class. Cheers pplf

Cheeers Paul..The one thing that is constant regarding Sunderland is their unpredictability!

<ok> Cheers mate appreciate your honesty. Youve got an awesome squad down there, so to get 4 points from you this season is a big accomplishment for us.
Good luck with the rest of the season!

Nice to see someone giving us some credit for the performance! Living in Manchester I have a soft spot for City, and wish you all the best for the rest of the season. Please don't let Man U win it again...

The difference is, under Bruce we were very bad most of the time wheras with Martin O'Neill we are very good most of the time. I can live with that thankyou very much!

While we have still had some terrible performances under O'Neill (WBA, Blackburn, Everton) they have always been followed by a vastly improved performance. Some may point out that we never got hammered this season under Bruce, but I'd rather have the occasional heavy defeat and play well in the other games, rather than narrowly losing 1-0/2-1 every week!

    Thank you PPLF.

Gutted we didnt win from the position we were in but still delighted to get a point.

Annoyed with the penalty decision and would love to see what Patrick V. thinks about the big teams getting dodgy decisions

O'Neills only been here about 4 months. We're still work in progress, and once he's stamped his mark on us fully, im sure the poor performances will be much more less frequent!

Frankly I would prefer Chitty to win the league rather than Manure, but it looks as if you have blown it, not sure why cos you undoubtedly have the players, but have started to be predictable? Thanks to the OP for your kind sentiments.

I'm afraid I cant share this Man City love in guys.

I've never seen a bigger set of ****ing cheats in my life in one team. They faked injury, dived and generally embarrassed them, selves all afternoon, aided by that total **** Dowd.

They deserve nothing more than to lose out to Utd as they are the most expensively put together shambles in footballing history and are not worthy of the title. The way they argued about a friggin free kick shows a bunch of tossers have invaded what was once a team I held in much affection.

    Sad to see it IMO.

No love in from me cest. Simply a thanks to pplf..

Agree wholeheartedly with your comments about them. The penalty was a joke although MOTD commentator thought it was stonewall! Wonder what he'd have said if Bendtner had done that!
