At least Redfearn won't get the manager's job. Way out of his depth, simply embarrassing tonight.

Don't be so sure this is Bates we're talking about!

As much as I dislike Bates, he's not entirely stupid. Employing Redfearn full time after his trial run would be an awful mistake and he knows full well how the fans would react to it. Probably won't go for Warnock or anyone who has the guts to speak out against him, but he won't employ Redfearn. (At least I hope to God he doesn't!)

He really doesn't care how we react Kiwi - Thats the main issue. Another season goes to waste.

I'm right there hoping with you! I'd like to think Bates isn't that stupid, but I just don't have that much faith. Cheap manager, knows the setup, will probably fall in line. Bates seems to be capable of anything at the minute!

He doesn't care how we react - he might start caring if there's protests at every home game, crowds of less than 10,000 and the prospect of relegation looming. He'll probably get us another mid table manager who will do the best with the limited resources we have, and we'll have to live with it. To be fair though, the squad we have at the moment isn't bad - Snodgrass, Pugh, Delph, Clayton? On paper that's a quality midfield at this level. Something's not right, even though the players claim to like Redfearn, they aren't bloody showing it.

Had enough tbh, kind of wish I didn't care so much!

Completely agree Kiwi - i'm bored of this whole situation and so angry we are being treated the way we are as fans.

I'm not sure if Bates is that bothered otherwise he would have invested in the squad and not sacked Grayson. He will make money out of the club whatever happens...

I can't see Bates giving Redfearn the job.

I'll be seriously pissed off if he does

Bates presumably needed an excuse to give Redfearn the job; hopefully this put a stopper to his plans, but I doubt it...

I'd hate to see Redfearn given even longer to ruin our season, but it's pretty much over already to be honest, so I wouldn't be surprised.

he'll find a reason, you just know it. All we need is a win against Doncaster and he'll have enough reason. 6 points from 12 when we deserved 9 will be his excuse, claiming we were just "Unlucky" against Brighton. Redfearn is getting the job whether we like it or not. He needs to fun his retirement plan and we, the people paying for it, just have to live with it.

    Bates isn't stupid?

    1) He sacks Grayson saying we need a manager who can get more out of the players we have and we are three points from a play off and need to act before it is too late.
    2) He appoints Redfearn for three games saying they are all winable games.

Question 1) What basis was Bates working on when he decided Redfearn could get more out of the players, a guy with 12 managerial wins to his name and an abysmal record.
Question 2) Why gamble (and lose) with 9 points that we should be more than capable of winning

Wolves have announced that they expect a new man in place within 48 hours, I quite expect them to get Warnock and Bates to turn around and say he was our target and we will now wait till the end of the season leaving the clueless Redfearn in charge.

We are now 6 points off a spot, the goal difference means it might as well be 7 and the two teams we are chasing have a game in hand each. We sit mid table 11th exactly where I thought we would be at the start of the season, I simply have no time left for anyone who continues to support Bates. If any fan cannot see how is is destroying Leeds, dividing fans, pushing up prices, responsible for lower attendances, failing to invest in the team, lying constantly and how he has more than a few hidden agenda's then you really do need help.

    Redfearn:
"We were good against Bristol City and we were okay against Brighton, but tonight I don't think we turned up.
"No disrespect to Coventry, but they are a team bang at the bottom of the league, they are struggling and the last thing you want to do is give them a leg up. We let them off the hook.
"It is difficult for me because I am only a caretaker manager, but a few home truths had to be told at half time."

    1) Good against 9 men did he forget that?
    2) Let them off the hook, by all accounts we were awful and deserved nothing
    3) Difficult as I am only "caretaker manager"... So he is trying to say it would be different if he was full time?

I'd read that last point as plainly that he doesn't feel comfortable being the bad guy in the dressing room. Which would explain a lot. If he isn't willing to have a go at the team when they are playing badly, how does he expect any result other than a loss?

Well Lee Clark has just been sacked, that's perfect for Bates now...
