Even after todays shambles, nothing bad to say about Poch. This has been a fantastic season, just a shame we haven't got one last distraction to aim for. Hopefully next year, hey.
If you play every game with virtually the same team, it will always go pear shaped when you disturb that team. Yet more proof of our lack of depth. Having said that, we have done remarkably well playing all season with this squad. I thought we'd been found out when we played the top sides and had a bad run, but no, Saints girded their loins and started winning again.
I don't know this "it's been a such an such season". I heard on MOTD the other night that Saints have had a great season. That's like saying you've had a good Christmas by the time Boxing Day comes around. We have not had a season yet. We're having a good season, and there is a huge amount left to play for. When the season becomes 26 games long then you can start saying we've had a good season, this early. Not getting at you personally HR, just using your quote as an example. But the general consensus of opinion seems to be slowly gathering itself that we might as well not bother from now on in. I really, really don't understand this attitude.
I think we'll beat Man Utd on the final day, so hopefully that'll take us above them so therefore we would have something fun to play for.
There's no excuses, I'm proud of where my club has come. Also not foolish enough to think we are guaranteed continued elevation.
It is an excuse. "It could be worse" is just excusing mediocrity. This team can be brilliant. We've all seen them be brilliant this season. The past is gone. Keep hold of it as a lesson, certainly, but that's all it should be.
So this brilliant team we have..... Why aren't we top? Rome wasn't built in a day, but I bet after the first few months of building a few people looked at the plans and thought "blimey, this is going to be some city," while a NegHead stood behind him and said, "Yeah, but why the heck isn't it done now? Don't give me that crap about is used to be a like of mud; I want my city built now"
A more apt metaphor for yesterday would be being given all the tools to build Rome, as well as marble to build it out of but choosing to build it using just your hands and mud anyway. We just let Sunderland progress without a fight.
So we have a manager who doesn't care about winning the Europa cup the carling cup or the fa cup. I appreciate the desire to win the league but maybe we could try and win something else along the way. It will be very dull otherwise.
We did, My long is that it happens. It wasn't good and I was disappointed too but saints fans seem to let one bad game be the be all of where we are at as a team. Currently our brilliant team is 8th in the league, so good but not always brilliant.
I think the opposite, if he was gonna go then I think he would've gone for the FA Cup over the League.
Didn't he mention in a pre or post match conference that he was already planning for next season? If he goes he goes and I will be disappointed, but I think he said this.
