We'll know who was telling the truth, and what the club's intentions were come summer. If the 35 million (or close to it) gets reinvested in the squad, and not pocketed, Andy wasn't pushed out the door. Period.
 
Agree, there would be no need to push him out if you're going to spend the money on a replacement. If the board is telling the truth, then for once I hope Ashley is in charge this summer, because a new owner would have no obligation to give us a 35m transfer budget.

Unless someone comes in whose willing to spend even more, short term loss for long term gain?! We can dream...
 
I bet we don't spend it and get fed the same old excuses that happened with previous player sales - the majority of it has gone to player wages, the club's running costs, servicing the debt (to the FCB) etc.
I'll be surprised if we spend more than £5-10mil.

I suppose we'll find out in the summer. It's up to Mike Ashley to keep to his word and prove us all wrong!
